Popular Post pattjock Posted January 13, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 13, 2023 So basically it's OK to drink and drive and break other laws during the holidays. All these laws have been in force for many years so there should not be any leniency during the most dangerous holidays. 1 2

AussieinThaiJim Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 No one in Wichian Buri wearing a helmet! Still parking on the wrong side of road.
bbbbooboo Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 hmmmmm....can we look forward to a lot less drivers on the road? I doubt it 1

Some of them would also have their driving license suspended. and even more bizarrely... If the offender was discovered to be highly addicted to alcohol, they would be transferred to medical centers to undergo a 4-month rehabilitation program. I'm wondering, would it not be the job of the courts to decide what punishment would be handed out or have the police been granted special powers ? 1
Popular Post mikebell Posted January 14, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 14, 2023 Imagine what the numbers of convictions would be IF RTP worked more than 14 days a year! 1 1 1 1

thailand49 Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Typical Thai even with their seldom method of enforcement 10,000 so much they can't deal with the number so what they do sweep it under the rug probation. An endorsement to go do it again and again until they kill others and themselves.

Looks like it - but the police already know none of them will pay the fine/ turn up at the police station/ haven't got a licence/haven't got insurance - or, very simply don't give a fishes <deleted> what the police want them to do - let alone any of them understanding what 'probation' means. They don't care!

Foghorn Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 So 99.76% of cases drink or drugs , amazing Thailand ,
actonion Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Imagine the amount of paper work this will generate 1

So despite being ''on probation'' (whatever that actually means) - those who actually have licences can get caught a further three times before their licence is suspended for three months. Those without licences can carry on drinking with impunity because they have nothing to lose . . . 2
lujanit Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 If a foreigner was caught DUI you can bet he wasn't given probation. He would have been made to go to the nearest ATM under the supervision of the BIB and made to draw out the maximum possible. 1 1
Sydebolle Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Well, it is a start - after all. The remaining millions got away by pure luck or a little lose change ????

sambum Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Yeah, that's really going to stop the carnage at holiday times - get drunk as a skunk, and if you get caught/cause an accident - probation!
