Video: Six wheel truck chasing pick-up full of kids - parent gets violent trucker in headlock after attack on driver

Siam Rath had an appalling tale of road rage in Ratchaburi, central/south Thailand, in which children were terrorized.

A video published on YouTube contained several of its scenes.

Initially a pick-up with a full load of students and being driven by Somsak, 66, came across an accident near Big C.

In avoiding the accident Somsak veered right then left and then became aware that a six wheel truck had probably clipped him.

But it was so minor and the children were not hurt so he carried on.

The driver of the truck - Jakkraphan, aged 25 - was enraged.

He chased the school transport terrifying the students with dangerous tailgating.

At the next spot he managed to grab Somsak's keys and hurl them at two students.

Not wanting any more trouble Somsak retrieved the keys and drove off.

Meanwhile the daughter of a parent called Thanaphat, 52, called him to say they were being terrorized.

He was waiting outside his house as Somsak stopped and the trucker pulled up in front.

Thanaphat called for "jai yen yen" but Jakkraphan suddenly attacked Somsak with his fists.

The plucky parent managed to get the much younger man in a headlock and police were called.

While waiting for the cops to arrive he had asked Jakkraphan why this had escalated and what had caused it.

He said that Somsak braked deliberately to cause a collision.

Thanaphat said why on earth would he do that with a full compliment of students in the back?

Police said there was no doubt about the assault charge against Jakkraphan.

The matter of the driving would need further investigation to show who was at fault.

The video makes out a strong case of reckless driving against the trucker, notes ASEAN NOW, irrespective of what caused it in the first place.

Siam Rath were not slow in drawing their readers' attention to the fact that today is Children's Day.

With the inference that this kind of menace is on the Thai roads causing danger to all road users including children.

The pickup driver is most at fault in my eyes. With a truckload full of kids in the back, he must just stop at the roadside and let the idiot pass. But instead he drives recklessly fast and tries to stay ahead of the lorry.

The truck driver should be arrested/banned/fined for all the 5hit coming out of his exhaust

It was all smoke and mirrors.

No, probably all smoke but NO MIRRORS.

This truck driver should be fined heavily, and license to drive a truck cancelled for 5 years.

The pick up driver, fined for failing to stop after an accident.

Two wrongs don't make a right .

Those guys like to drive over slowly and hog the road.

Standard practice.

Yes, there's no irrational road rage in "your (turd) world", is there?

The truck isn't having an overtaking move prevented by the pickup driver, he's trying to get at the  driver.  Didn't you read the article?

They only have to pass the emissions test at the time of the test so it's not unlikely that it did pass.

Yes, yes, before someone jumps all over me, I know the emissions are supposed to met all the time but I'm referring only to the time of getting certified.

Dangerous nutter in the truck. Needs jailing for that never mind a driving ban.
