Yep and it also will have consequences if people start trolling members but would that work? Mods are checking who is reacting to who?

Wow! Don't wanna be a Mod

Easy enough to report trolling.

How if you don't know who is trolling you?

You (normal Members) won't see any more who has given emojis to a post

Not when you don't know who's actually doing the trolling because, apparently, the use of the various emoticons will now be anonymous to the poster being commented on, and all other regular members of the forum.

And, I think it's pretty clear in the past that most of the time, when emoticon trolling/stalking issues arose, it was because targeted member could see and know it was the same member doing it repeatedly to their posts....and thus could report it.

But now... invisible except to the mods, who don't spend their days seeking out such things.

You don’t need to see who has posted a trolling emoji to know it is trolling and report it.

You can still see the emoticon and know it is trolling. You can report the trolling even if you don’t know who it is.

I was the troll who just gave you a laughing emoji...

Hmmm... I better go warn myself now...

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Trolling is the SAME person repeatedly targeting another member.

It's NOT trolling if five different members each post a single  laughing or confused emoticon on a particular member's various posts.

Now, though, apparently, the targeted member has no way of knowing which kind of conduct is occurring.

If you regard any and all as trolling then they can be reported.

That is why I said "I don't wanna be a mod" they will be busier then they already are.

I hope they get pay rise  because of this :whistling:

The usual forum grassers will be crying to teacher, without a doubt.

I thought there was this poster called 'Somebody' who liked my posts but not. I appreciate what they are attempting to do. Not knowing who provided feedback, and giving feedback this way, will make for a different type of experience. A bit more distant.

Force you to reply if you want to personalise the feedback.

I'll be reducing my time on this board and away from trolls who use emojis to stalk and annoy instead of contributing sensible and meaningful posts.

I'd rather see all emojis gone instead of the shoe fight we have here now.

If you do suspect you are the victim of a "reaction-troll" you can still report such posts, remember the all-seeing oracle knows who reacted what ????

The return of those "negative" emoticons, along with the protection/cover of providing anonymity, is an invitation to increased trolling.

Glad to see them back.  I hope they stay.  If you don't like other people's comments?  Well, you can "Ignore" them.  It they laugh at you (I've been laughed at), toughen up.

We are hoping (I know, I know), that the fact that "Nobody Knows" (QI fans will understand) will remove the satisfaction factor and actually reduce reaction trolling.

We shall see. The toys can be removed just as easily as they were reinstated.
