Infamous British Drug Fugitive Arrested in Bangkok, Thailand

This guy looks relaxed, fit and well for his age.  Especially given his disability and the fact he is an alleged International criminal on the run.

He stands as an quintessential example that Thailand is a great desitination for middle aged men.

I wish him well in the pending appeal against his charges.

I wonder how the proceeds from the sale of his car and other assets will be distributed among the RTP?

A number of times arriving from Bangkok into the UK, the police have come on to the plane to escort off passengers in handcuffs. Can only assume they were wanted fugitives either returning of their free will, or after being extradited to justice.

Or maybe a couple of days overstay...

was arrested on Friday by Thai Police in Bangkok.

for reference:-

Wakeling, who had been living in the beachside town of Hua Hin, was in possession of a passport in another identity.

.....................................the NCA regional manager for Thailand (UK's National Crime Agency)

I wonder how many other UK fugitives in Thailand could be "under the NCA microscope"??

Why would British police escort people off a flight in handcuffs arriving in the UK for overstaying in Thailand for a couple of days?

Living in Hua Hin but took his car for repair in Bangkok!!!!! More to this story than what is being told.

Yeah, more to the story, for sure -- perhaps something earth shattering like he had a make of car that only had  service centres in bangkok, or he was dealing with a bangkok based modifier or tuner.

Hundreds?

I was thinking more in the thousands!

Very few I see around would be anyone I would hang with!

just a rough bunch!

thailand attracts them like pigs to <deleted>!????????????‍♂️

So, pray tell, which country of wonder, grace, sophistication and beautiful people were you vomited from? Please enlighten us all.

After all, we British are all, 'a rough bunch' to be likened to pigs.

Whatever country you originate from, I could use a much more disparagingly appropriate term of distaste.

'Flag eight', Northstart!

He would be ok if he stayed in Pattaya, the offender who scammed me for Bhat 7 million payed the original Pattaya Bhat 200,000, the complaint file just disappeared, such magic, nothing as it the file and you would not believe the cop was transferred disappeared. Finally an arrest warrant was issued 2 years later for the offender, then the station chief refused to sign the arrest warrant. I offered to asked the DSI to help, i was told to leave Thailand. The matter still not in the court AMAZING , Just wounder how they caught hoppy.

Who could possibly predict a country filled with cannabis, hookers and corrupt police would attract foreign 'undesirables'?

Don't forget to mention corrupt immigration officers and payment under the table visa options.

I was chatting with Richard several months back at a friend's birthday party in Bangkok.  He was adamant that it was the food and temples that persuaded him to chose Thailand as his preferred hideout location.

So the NCA and the RTP are taking all the credit and posing for the photo shoots.

But it would appear it was not their efforts that tracked Richard down.  The reality is that he was just ratted on by some member of the public:

“We have been supported by the public, who responded to the media and Crimewatch appeals to provide intelligence, all of which has ultimately led to his capture.”
