COVID over and Tourism picking up, no wonder that certain European TV Stations feel the urge, that they have to send some camera crew to Thailand to describe the happenings in "Sodom and Gomorrah" once more. Seeing themselves as certified Moral Apostels, aiming to destroy any earthly "Garden of Eden" still available to elderly male Farangs.

I would like to ask those Moral Apostels a few questions:
- While elderly Farangs in Europe do not dare anymore to even display verbal interest in a younger woman (risking strong rebuffal plus possible legal action), in Thailand a Farang may still do so without having to fear any sort of "ramification". According to the Moral Apostels, such "Gardens of Eden" for males MUST be eradicated.

- Those zealots not realising how many ladies (and their families) depend on the income of "Hostesses" working in Sodom and Gomorrah. 10'000nds of Thai families depend on this source of income. Those "Hostesses" can hardly find other employment.

- So then, would those Moral Apostels (and their financial backers) be willing and able to supplement the lost income of all the Hostesses, once they have succeeded to "eliminate" all the Sodoms and Gomorrahs?

PS: Interestingly, places like Pattaya record less violent crimes than any European/US major city per capita. (No reason to "fight" for something, that is available as a matter of normalty). Of course, such "normalty" must be "eliminated", otherwise the world would become too much of a peaceful place. We can't have that, can we!
Not representative, but those Hostesses I have known over the years would not exchange their current job with a factory job (boring, drudgery, low pay). Not even when business is "slow". Furthermore, they have conveyed to me that "misbehaving" Farangs have been very rare. Most of them friendly as opposed to Thai males. Misbehaving Farangs probably below 1%.

Naturally, the Moral Apostels will come up with a different set of numbers. Surprise, surprise!

Very much in contrast to my experiances. "Working" with Farangs is mostly fun and financially rewarding. As opposed to "working" with Thai males. Why are there still 10'000ends of Hostesses, instead of working in a factory or on the rice-patty back home? Because working with Farangs is more rewarding than anything else, available to them.

Nonsense, all the women in our family with degrees are from a poor background, they were not reliant on prostitution or falang customers of the same to get where they are.

It seems you may not really know what goes on with the girls in the trade, their real life, and what happens to them and the money you think they make. You can use whatever justification that works for you but if your gonna go down that path at least dont lie to make yourself feel ok with your choices.

Working as a prostitute is for the lazy and stupid who just could not be bothered with study and a career. Many Thai women have worked factory jobs and the like and successfully raised their kids.

 

My wifes cousin worked in a factory put both her girls single handedly through college with some help from wife.

 

Both girls graduated, one is now a flight attendant for Emirates, the other an office worker.

 

Don't try to suggest that prostitution is the only road to survive successfully.

There are school loans,, at least thats where my wife got the money to go to university before we met. She grew up in isaan on a farm working hard and selling fish in the market at age 12 before she went to school each day.

Her mother saved and her older sisters helped some and the remaining she got a school loan.

I seriously doubt 90% of all farangs come for girls. Certainly a good percentage of old farangs that cant make it back at home for whatever reason come to Thailand for a variety of reasons, sex being one of them. If thats your choice good enjoy it but dont try to excuse your involvement as some how helping women in the trade have a great lifestyle.

 

I would question if you have a clue about morals based on your comments. If that's the lifestyle you want to lead by all means live it. But dont try to sell your self absolving flawed reasoning to others, it only suits you. Own it and live but at least know the truth about the lifestyle you indulge in.
