How do you respond when you receive messages online TF, TC, DIA, etc (like they all have the same script they send to us foreigners):

 

-Kind man,

-good heart,

-take care me family me,

-give me everything.

 

(Before anything else, know that my profile says, lived here 20+ years and speak thai).

 

I usually reply that I am reasonable kind, and that my doctor said my heart is still same a young man (the obvious sarcasm are lost on them, but I enjoy it tremendously, every  time)

 

I continue with, I will of course help you, but I expect a healthy person in normal working age to work 8 hours a day. I continue with, If we stay together 24/7 we will soon get bored of eachother.

 

'Take care me family me', is when I usually see red, and I reply with: 'your former thai bf, how much did he give you and family you,? (thinglish helps). That's when they change the topic, no surprise there, is it?

 

From 20 years past, good thai husbands gave wife all his salary, and wife gave him a small 'allowance'. But that was 20-30 yrs ago. Last 10+ years things changed, thai husbands has grown a real pair of ball$, and now most give wifey only half of his salary.

 

'Family me', well I have not yet known a thai husband who give 1 baht to her parents, or siblings.

 

Finally 'give me everything' ......

Well IF I didn't know I was talking with a true gold digger before, I finally got it now.

 

OK, they all think we're rich (compared to the majority of thais, we are, in a way). Try to tell them that a average expat have a monthly pension between 40-70k always fell on deaf ears, same as our expences are way higher than a Thai. They just don't believe me when I give example, that my medical insurance premium is more than 100k yearly. Thais can only think like this ' if I had 40-70k month, I would be rich. Period.

 

So back to my question to ye'all:

How do you respond to:

Life's too short for such messages, i only respond and consider requests who are in my opinion genuine and where i know the people and the circumstances.

They like to take care of their family with free money, but tell them no and they can work for money sent to parents and see what happens.

Your choice to mix with this particular level of Thai society, setting your sights low.

Nope, never. Back in the day when i still used TF i used to get msgs like this:

Whole different experience, but similar goal: to scam you.

Once, back before ubiquitous wifi and messaging when we had to go to internet shops, heard an older gal dictating to the girl who worked there what to write: "can not eeeeeeeeeat, can not sleeeeeeeeeeeeep! "

I was waiting for someone to leave to use a computer, and it just so happened I got the one where that had taken place.  When I unlocked the screen I found she had not logged out of her mail site.  I notice she had several farang guys in different countries, and I couldn't resist snooping.  Pretty flat conversations: when you come to Thailand? need money, when you send?  lub you too mutt. 

I faced a moral dilemma, should I tip these punters off?  I did not.

Who is the idiot here, the "girl", who sends the same message to hundreds of guys, or the guy who writes a detailed answer which she will never read? And even if she would read it, she wouldn't understand the sarcasm and other details.

I don't. Because I don't use any of those online services.

The reason is simple: The kind of girl which I am interested in does not need any online service to find a guy. And if she would use such service, she wouldn't look for someone like me.

 

In real life I can meet lots of interesting girls. In a few minutes we know if the chemistry works. And then it's up to my charm, money, whatever to convince her to join me for a drink and maybe more. And then let's see.

For every "good girl" on the dating sites there are 1,000 scammers. Some work in teams so someone is always available to respond when the others are sleeping or busy with other guys. Try to meet girls the old fashioned way... face to face in the city where you reside.

BTW if you had tested out TC you would know that most women in this country are on this  spesific site, of whom many work for the goverment (pics in uniform) so a broad spectrum of the female population here.

And then there are the smart guys who pick up girls in a bar next to a sleeping customer. And later these smart guys are surprised when such girls want money.

I love reading comments from all the want to be experts here.

My advice: If you don't know what you are talking about, then don't talk about it.

Maybe your mates back home would be impressed by all your deep Thai knowledge, but people who live here thinks it's best case funny when pretenders talk a lot.

Possibly yes, the number of women who have the same standard profile or messages they send ... Someone once said, thai women only love money. Of course we know that is incorrect, but the numbers of atm chasers or gold diggers are at a all time high.

 

Talked with a few women in uniform of different type. Refreshing. When they themselves earn 20-35k, not a word about money or take care me family me.

 

In Real Life are way better, but not many well paid gov.workers in tourist cities.
