Thepprasit Night Market - really good !

Featured Replies

Yesterday, I visited the Thepprasit night market (google map is your friend).

I highly recommend it for those looking for cheap prices.

It's huge and probably 2 or 3 times cheaper that what you'll find in the city center.

A nice slice of pizza is 20thb, a good kebab starts 80thb, Mo ping is 10thb, spicy spaghetti with bacon or sausages just 50thb, etc...

And it's very good. Much better than what I had at Tree Town or Wat Chai Mongkhon market.

For those looking for clothes, many good deals as well (not as good as Lazada I suppose but this experience is different altogether).

Many things are priced around 100-150thb.

Had a very nice time there.

Anyway, hope this helps.

....And it's now open during the day time,  albeit a little limited compared to the evenings.

They have made a small car park  above the market,

Don't  know how much it is.

But I just avoid that area when the market is on.

A total traffic nightmare.

Cheaper down the road opposite the petrol stations at Talad Kwai, aka the Buffalo Market.

Here was me thinking it was vehicles that caused traffic jams, not markets? ????

The market looks interesting.

We have a car in Jomtien, but really did not want to drive through that mess.

The songthaews are the big question.

Not sure how often they run to & from the beach end of Thepprasit road.

(When we lived off of South Pattaya Road, the bloody songthaews were often useless , as they would not leave the 1st stop until full - Thus locking out anyone in the middle of the route).

Any hints?

I park at Tesco's or Outlet and walk through, only ten minutes for this 79 year old. Let the missus shop while I sample the delights of the beer wagon.

it used (many years ago ) to be mainly used clothes - is there now more new stuff?

A map that I found online. Might help. The black line is the one going to the market.

If you wanna go there from beach road, you'll have to take the Pattaya-Jomtien line and stop at the Thappraya-Thepprasit junction then take the "black line" to the market from there.

Oh I think stalls and vendors randomly set up can slow things down too..... even a 7-11 on a corner does.

There is a HUGE free parking lot in the lane with a 7-11 on the west side of the market (west side of Keha condos), only 5 minutes walk to the market.

For a good night market, go to Satterhip on Thursday. Enormous and prices for Thais, not like Buckhao and Thepprasit.

Are you sure this is the market referenced? The poster who pointed out the sattahip said it was open Thursdays. According to your google maps link this market is not open Thursdays. Lucky I didn't drive down there.

A bit of searching found this one:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/700+Rai+Market/@12.6979328,100.8892201,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x31028e9e251021fb:0x27ddf3124b1d52ae!8m2!3d12.6979328!4d100.8892201!16s%2Fg%2F11bcdhytx3?entry=ttu

At least it's open Thursdays (and Saturdays)., Quit a bit farther away from Pattaya though.
