Monday 17th is not an official public holiday.

Think you will find Monday is a late substitute

holiday to cover for Saturday.

Not at my company and quite a lot more.

Does this mean that Monday 17th is an official substitute holiday covering banks, post offices, etc as well? No mention of this in this pinned thread:-

Or maybe just a holiday for Immigration?

According to the Hua Hin (Bluport) branch Immigration it IS a substitute holiday.

I can’t see it being busy on the 18/19th not unless you drive there to avoid the water.

Monday 17th is a government holiday, all offices nationwide closed.

Can't comment on Pattaya specifics.

Another poster in my thread wrote that banks will be open.

(in line with BoT site).

May well be that private businesses are open as normal but not government offices.

See above.

Indeed printed calendars and online calendars from year end don't show a holiday at all.

That's a screenshot of the immigration (Google) calendar (Khon Kaen) from their website:

But when Christmas is thrown into the mix as well these western companies don't do too badly, I think. In my home country (UK), the Christmas/New Year period is one big holiday lasting a couple of weeks!
