Nearly half of Americans think Trump should suspend 2024 campaign after indictment: poll

Yes, the Biden administration has read their history well: Stalin, Kim Jong Un, Hitler, Hussain, as well as other dictators also jailed their political opponents.

Why can't they just leave it to the American people to decide? You know that thing called 'democracy'

"Stalin, Kim Jong Un, Hitler, Hussain, as well as other dictators also jailed their political opponents."

What kind of legal process did they follow?

'democracy' requires reasonable people who acknowledge when they have lost an election.

  • So, Trump runs for president, they indict him, and half the people think he should stop running. ????   Sad day for democracy. ????   I wonder if those people are democrats, by any

  • I agree. Let him run and lose in 2024.

  • He won’t withdraw its his most lucrative grift and a easy way to get the attention he craves

Yeah, but it's clear these charges are trumped up. (Lol. Couldn't help it. ????)

The timing with his arrest and him running for presidency again is a bit more than a coincidence.

Biden even said that they would do everything in their legal power to stop him becoming president if he did run again. Lol.

Watch this from 25:19 to hear him say that, "If he does run,.........."

Is it really Biden's job to use the law to prevent someone else becoming president after him? I thought that was the job of the voters in a democracy, no??

Unethical.

Here's the relevant quote:

"We just have to demonstrate that he will not take power.by, if he does run, under the legitimate efforts of our constitution, does not become the next President again."

From that you construe the Biden is speaking about some unconstitutional, criminal plan to block Trump from taking office? An ad hoc comment, which doesn't even support what you claim, is your idea of proof. It is to laugh.

To the Trumpophiles claiming, in his own words, a “ political witch hunt”, how do you explain the indictments coming from a jury of Trump’s peers?

It is a criminal indictment. “ If you can’t do the time don’t do the crime”.

Trump first came to my notice when he and his father were convicted of racist housing discrimination in the early 70s. No BS plea deals likely this time. around.

So most people think he should still run and most of the others would actually vote for the worst President in history Biden.

Most people think he should still run? What makes you think that?

No, that's not what I said.

I said it's unethical for Biden to use the law/constitution to stop someone becoming president.

That's not his job. It's the job of the voters. It's called democracy.

Rather than legally messing around with an election candidate, which - correct me if I'm wrong - is what he said.

It's a misuse of his power as president.

The keyword in the title is "nearly"

Read the title carefully.

So elections aren't a constitutional means to stop someone from taking office? Hmm...interesting.

That is a big reason I.M.O. why Biden needed to withdraw from Afghanistan , he can hardly lecture them about democracy whilst getting his opponents jailed

I'm sure you wouldn't make such an accusation without being in possession of a smoking gun. Can you please link to your evidence?

We do know for a fact that the Attorney General has given final authority to David Weiss, the Trump appointed U.S. atttorney for Delaware, the final say in whether Hunter Biden should be prosecuted. Hardly seems like an administration willing to play prosecutorial games. Whereas the Trump administration...

Well, this is how I'd explain it to my 5 year old.

If "nearly" half the people think he shouldn't run for presidency, that means that more than half still think he should."

See how simple that is?

If there's something you still don't get, just let me know.

The article said 48% thought he should suspend his campaign. Nowhere did it say that 52% didn't. I think your 5 year old needs a new teacher.

EDIT: Just don't hire proton for the job.

When your five year old asks, ‘But Pops, did all those that didn’t say he shouldn’t run, say he should?’

You’ll have to respond ‘shut up and eat your greens’.

Lots of English teachers here but, are there any maths teachers ?

What is the other half of the remainder of 48 % ?

Well, if by the remainder you mean 52%, then half of that would be 26%

Given the mathematical ineptitude I've seen here from Trump supporters, it's no wonder that they can be suckered into believing that he won the election.

It was claimed on the basis of that 48% figure that the majority think he should run.

The absurdity noises from the Maga cult is unbearable. Let the loser run if he get past the primaries. He is nothing but a fringe candidate for the 2024 election if he is the GOP candidate. 25% favorability polling rate is a dismal number to run for any election.

If say , 10 % of people laughed at the question , gave it a ???? as a response , then that would leave just 42 % of people thinking that he should run ?

Well, they weren't convicted. They pleaded no contest to an administrative charge and had to pay a hefty fine. What happened was this. Some investigative agency sent white couples and black couples to rent units at Trump properties. They had the same financial information re jobs savings etc. The black couples were told no property was available. The white couples...well, I'll leave it to you to make a wild guess about what they were told.
