Place to rent that's away from the festivities

Living on Soi Buakao I can't leave the apartment without getting splashed.

I'm looking into places where the water fights aren't going on as much. For this and especially next year. I'm thinking that area between 3rd and Sukhumit. Anyone live there and able to speak to it?

If still watery, does going East of Sukhumvit change things at all?

There's only 3 more days of Songkran, and you'll find water activities all over town. It would be better to wait a few months and search in the low season to get a better deal, when landlords are a bit hungrier. Anywhere at all would be an improvement on Soi Buakao.

Certainly I have not seen any water splashing (other than travelling pick ups on their way to or from) between 3rd Road/Central junction and Suk and down along 3rd to Nua and the road past Big C Extra going north - Yume/Arunatei or whatever it is called. Mainly because there are few if any actual bars along there.

Apus may be worth looking at and lots of other blocks set back off that road.

NB - all bets off for the 19th and probably 18th as well........

Learnt my lesson last year, so scheduled a number of work events in the UK!

Smug over a pint of Tanglefoot and Badger real ale, Beef and Guinness pie to follow with crumble and Cornish clotted cream for afters.

Go out in the morning instead, no water on Buakhao then. Pratumnak also pretty quiet depending on road, could stay on a hotel there

Going north from Big C Extra is Soi Paniad Chang where Apus Condominiums are.

A nice quiet way to the back entrance of Home Pro

Soi Arunotai (Pattaya Klang Soi 1) is going south and quite a few bars scattered along.

hmmm... stay away from Thailand during the Songkhran period.

I live on a Soi of Arunotai near the school, no water splashing here, ideal for Big C on Klang and when the water stops, 10 minutes from Buakhao. Few town houses for rent or sale in the Sois or in Nikon Condo if you want cheap rent, 60 baht in a Bolt taxi to Central.

Better known as Soi Yume.  Lots of accommodation, but for bars you're better off on/around Arunothai.

Apparently most/many streets have 3 names! Yume is my short cut and traffic avoider for traveling to or from Big-CX... and the Homepro... although dodgy to exit the later onto Yume!
