Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Sunday night said he respects the election results which see Move Forward Party emerge as the top winner.

Speaking briefly to journalists as he was leaving the headquarters of the United Thai Nation Party, Prayut thanked voters for their support for the party.

“I will continue to perform my duty to the best of my ability in whatever capacity.

Does this respect for democratic process include his 250 military lackeys in the Senate?

I'm not a Thaksin supporter at all, but if Thaksin must go to jail then Tu must go as well for taking the country by coup and ruining the country for the past 9 yrs.

If the courts don't cancel the two parties these 250 will have to vote for PTP or MF premier.
But the bigger issue is that PTP and MF maybe broke the election laws with several cases and the parties might be disbanded. But disbanding the two biggest parties is really bad. Let them go away with braking the law is equal bad.

a) read the constitution....there is an amnesty in it

b) how did he ruin the country....in my opinion his Covid politics was pretty bad, but not worse than the majority of other countries. Else he simply did nothing....nothing good nothing bad. Didn't brake a law, wasn't corrupt as Thaksin....didn't do any reforms

Relax mate, you lost.

Time to suck it up and put on your big boy pants.

Look on the bright side, now that the pro democracy side of Thai politics is in charge you'll be able to spend the next 20+ years critiquing their performance and, or course, there'll be many many more articles on Thaksin for you to comment on once he arrives back in Thailand.

Take a minute to grieve, then move past it.

Look at you, can't win fairly so you want the referee to cheat for you.

Sorry pal, those days are over.

English not your first language?

Since you claim to know about the bigger issues of election laws being broken, perhaps you can list them here for discussion. I don’t mean ‘cut and paste’; I mean facts from your claimed knowledge.
I seem to remember others electioneering before others were allowed to do so. I remember massive corruption anyway. Your memory seems to be somewhat clouded and altogether more ‘select’.

Can you remind us of the outcome of this?

I see much support here for "the voice of the people". Do you guys think "the people" is on our side? Do you think the people will do away eg with dual pricing? You bet they will! If "the people" had their way the price for foreigners would not be 5 times the price for Thais. It would be twenty times that.

What did "the voice of the people" do for us in our respective home countries beside creating feminist police states?

It was up and down in the newspapers....iTV shares, promise of 10.000 Baht, massive vote buying...if you don't read newspapers even here members spoke about how much money their family got in vote buying....Can't help you if missed that all: Read newspapers

These might be things that broke the law its accusations not fact yet. Don't forget Prayut increased wages of army and civil servants put loads of money in the village funds just before the election. Then gave an electricity subsidy while it could not be done officially. Problem is those wont be investigated as the EC is on the side of the army. I doubt that parties really broke the law in a meaningful way. Having 48 shares in a media company is nothing. Its not as if the company was broadcasting MF propaganda.

If that happens, and I'm sure they will dig until they find a silly reason, there will be a civil war.

That is what I worry the most about. They will forward MF and PTP cases to the constitutional court, and drag it on for a year, just like they did last election, and in the meantime Prayuth will continue as caretaker PM

These types might want to become inspired to return to their respective homelands where life is much more wonderfully civilised - they can spend the rest of their years whinging on and being miserable.

As I thought… you read what they want you to read, but with no underlying knowledge of your own.
All these things have been taking place under your nose, the difference is that it is swept under the carpet for some and used against others when ‘necessary’.
I guarantee that if I scrutinise your life that I will find some skeletons in the cupboard. iTV shares…. pathetic!

Oh yes you knew that, as it has been all over the news and brought up in parliament, you only conveniently wanted to forget about.

It was Prayuth who gave the order to confiscate the 1500 buses from the previous operator, only to pave the way for his nephew.

By the way, the previous operator has been found NOT GUILTY, by the court, but the damage has been done

The votes from Thai people will tell you all you need to know.

The previous...was this the Samak corruption case? Or something different?

Strange, in previous posts you pretend to know everything, now you don't seem to be able to read anymore.

Was Samak a bus operator? No Samak was a PTP PM, who got removed by your heroes, not because of corruption, but because he presented a cooking program on TV.

The bus operator had no connections to the previous government, his business was only killed by a corrupt soldier

Watch this space folks.

The dinosaurs will not give up quietly and the EC was put in place by them.
