Hence the old leftist anti-war slogan "What if they started a war and nobody showed up?" It's only a matter of time before red states demand a divorce. Personally, I think it's a win-win situation for both sides. Who wants to live with people you despise? The Civil War established that states DO NOT have the right to secede. One of the good things, along with the abolition of slavery, that came out of that war. Otherwise, it was an unnecessary loss of life on a grand scale. I come from a southern state and in my opinion, the Confederate states should have permanently lost the right to vote. That hasn’t seemed to hurt Puerto Rico. 2

Barr lied up and down about the conscience and conclusions of Mueller'sreport. IMO Barr sleeps restlessly at night, in fear of all this catching up to him. I know that he afraid of Contempt of Congress, he really changed his tune when that term popped up. He was otherwise pretty brazen. Whenever I see him on TV I think he is trying to polish a turd (his reputation) and try to pass as a decent guy. He'll make remarks, and then laugh at them, trying to make people think he has a sense of humor. He might have better luck with a wooppee cushion. 1

Are you being serious or just looking at what you only want to look at. With the records in his possession never having gone to the National Archives, as required by law, the man essentially stole Government documents. It matters not how many times you and other posters like you have reiterated this, as well as a few other reasons why this is a serious offence, and for trump to plead "not guilty" to the charges laid out against him, is plainly stupid. So here we have a man, an ex-president, who took documents (many classified and containing potentially damning information to the US and other countries) not belonging to him and stored them in various rooms in Mar-a-Lago, when law clearly dictates that they should have been handed over to the NARA. The PRA requires that all records created by Presidents (and Vice-Presidents) be turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) at the end of their administrations – – no arguments, no pleading, no stalling YET trump supporters keep finding arguments against what is clearly a plain and straightforward law...... The PRA makes clear that, upon the conclusion of the President’s term in office, NARA assumes responsibility for the custody, control, preservation of, and access to the records of a President. 44 U.S.C. 2203(g)(1). The PRA makes the legal status of Presidential records clear and unambiguous, providing that the United States reserves and retains “complete ownership, possession, and control of Presidential records.” 44 U.S.C. 2202. There is no history, practice, or provision in law for presidents to take official records with them when they leave office to sort through. What's going on at the moment clearly deserves a place in a "Dumb and Dumber" movie. 1

Good luck if you believe that the military are controlled by the individual states. You may get a nasty surprise if you believe that. ALL of whom are controlled but the national government who give the orders. Sure there will be a very small minority who may ignore their orders and will face swift punishment for doing so. ALL the states have a National Guard which are nominally controlled by the state governors but in reality are also controlled by the central government. 4 1
Jingthing
Something to look forward to? A neuroscientist explains why Trump extremists will grow violent as Election 2024 approaches (msn.com) . Quote As the 2024 U.S. presidential election approaches, we can expect tensions between the political left and right to intensify. That being said, it's essential to understand the psychological forces at play that may predict a rise not just in disagreement, but in violence. The social psychology theory known as terror management theory offers a powerful lens through which to view the growing polarity and potential hostility, and how that could manifest as violence depending on what happens with Donald Trump — legally and politically — in the coming year

Yes, all those military personnel, aka gov't employees, are going to sacrifice their own, and their family's, well being, futures, pensions etc in support of a man-baby who, if he really were innocent, would be putting up a defense instead of screaming about it, which he does so much it's obvious he has something to hide. 1 1
Popular Post Bkk Brian
At some point Trump's MAGA base may start to see just how duped they were, but I doubt it. Barr blasts Trump’s defense in document case as ‘absurd’ Former Attorney General Bill Barr blasted former President Trump’s defense in the classified documents case as “absurd” and said the former president “absolutely” was mischaracterizing the Presidential Records Act. “The legal theory by which he gets to take battle plans and sensitive national security information as his personal papers is absurd. It’s just as wacky as the legal doctrine they came up with for having the vice president unilaterally determine who won the election,” Barr told Robert Costa on CBS News’s “Face the Nation” in an interview Sunday morning. https://thehill.com/homenews/4056167-barr-blasts-trumps-defense-in-document-case-as-absurd/ John Bolton: ‘Very disturbing’ how Trump wanted to keep classified documents Former national security adviser John Bolton on Sunday said former President Trump appeared to have a “pattern” of wanting to collect materials “of interest to him,” including classified documents, and knocked Trump’s behavior as “very disturbing.” https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/4056132-john-bolton-very-disturbing-how-trump-wanted-to-keep-classified-documents/ 2
