Lost in Translation: Thai Police reckon Japanese attempted rape claim a misunderstanding

Sure like to hear..... just what kind of legitimate "traditional" Thai massage technique of a woman customer is going involve, as the article recounts, the masseur "putting his finger into her vagina"?

Just as bad, the police are actually publicly parroting that nonsense? And before even being able to speak directly with the victim, because they couldn't seem to readily come up with a Japanese interpreter?

All in all, it sounds like a thoroughly shoddy failure of law enforcement...not surprisingly.

Agree 100%, however it's Thailand and nothing seems clear cut, even rape apparently?

What's with brining in the MFP MP? Is it to feign some sort of credibility to the story by the police? (rhetorical).

Well he has not represented the new age, squeaky clean reputation they are portraying. Quite the opposite in this case.

Reform the RTP. Dont get in bed with them.

Sanong...looked into the incident the following day and reported that the CCTV footage had been deleted

How remarkably convenient. I'm not aware of any business that goes to the trouble and expense of installing CCTV, but then erases the records within 24 hours. Electronic storage is cheap.

Sanong urged all massage shops to provide detailed explanations of the service process to their customers prior to the massage. He emphasised that the massage shop should maintain an open and well-ventilated environment and install security cameras.

The superintendent of Chana Songkham Police Station, Sanong Saengmanee, looked into the incident the following day and reported that the CCTV footage had been deleted, leaving the officers without concrete evidence of the assault.

Mis-understanding?

The officer said that without CCTV, evidence could be manipulated. There may have been a misunderstanding but we can't put our finger on it.????

But the masseuse did.

First of all, what woman in her right mind would get a massage from a man in Japan?

Uh, nobody.  Women and men do not bathe together in Japan, much less get massages together.

In fact...

Hiyoshido Traditional Japanese Massage, Kyoto: Men are required to be massaged by men, women massaged by women.

Now why on earth would she do that in Thailand?

Where 99% of all massages are done by women or Ladyboys.

C'mon.

There's only one reason why a woman would get a massage from a man in Thailand.

She's lonely.

And needs a man's touch, so to speak.

Use a little common sense. ????
