Up to that person and no-one else

Ever heard of the saying:

"Not my business " ??

Perhaps you and others should practice that

I don't care if people want to waste money on ugly things. Just don't understand it. Never heard a 75yo say wow I'm so glad I got those tatts when I was 25yo.

I hear 75yos say they were proud they did this or that in life but never tattoos.

So why do they get massively tatooed?

You imply that they think first before they get those tattoos.

They don't, at least they don't think about possible consequences for the rest of their life.

One of the joys of being young, footloose and fancy free.

However,  when I see Thai women in the pubs in the UK wearing open backed dresses and showing full back tattoos off, Ii hardly conjures up thoughts that their partner met them whilst they were working as a flight attendant or that they met them in a bank or a high class hotel in Thailand.

What's wrong with meeting your future wife in a gogo bar?

My one was the hottest girl on stage - and no tattoos at all.

The purpose of those tattoos was to help identify their corpse if they got killed.  show people the countries they had visited when very few, other than servicemen and sailors travelled abroad then!

If what you say was true then every sailor would have had a tattoo!  They did not.

If you say so. I can remember my uncle had a Welsh dragon and anchor, though he'd travelled extensively in the Far East before the war. During the war he was on the North Atlantic and then Arctic Convoys.

Presumably you had to pay her a wage when she left working sex?

You know the old saying, "you can take the girl out of the bar but you cant take the bar out of the girl"

Tatts dont age well, but maybe they dont care.

nothing ages well. we're all getting uglier.

what's the purpose of art?

a lot of girls look hot with those tattoos.

i might actually get one. I've been too geeky my whole life.

what's with all the resentment towards the tattoos?

is there a subconscious resentment because bar girls are actually allowed to dress however they like, whereas everyone else in 'civilized jobs' has to conform to rigid dress codes?

you're jealous because they look cool and you don't. admit it.

Maybe the answer to the question is that people in their home village don't look down upon the bar/gogo girl. Everyone in the village know that the girl is making money from foreigners, savings some and sending some home regularly. The girls are maybe considered smart to make money off their looks. Therefore a tatoo is no stigma.

Just a theory. I don't know the villagers' inner thoughts.

If the tatts are done right, I like them on the girls. It's like having sex with a piece of art.

Yes, if the 'art' is a tiger painted on black velvet at a Starving Artist's sale on a Saturday morning at a highway Holiday Inn.
