Pantum has nothing to do with Lexmark, it is a Chinese brand manufactured in China, while Lexmark is manufactured in many countries, but not even in China,

Parent company of both Lexmark and Pantum is the same - NineStar. Pantum printers use Lexmark print engines.

 

And to your last question - unfortunately yes. Then again, for someone who prints very little and isn't overly concerned about the quality or durability of equipment, it's not a bad choice.

Maybe I am used to HP, Canon and Fuji, so this AIO felt very flimsy and loud in comparison. It does the job, just definitely looks as cheap as its price tag is.
