THE THIRD suspect in the murder and dismemberment of a German businessman in Chonburi last week was arrested this Wednesday (July 12) in Kanchanaburi while trying to flee across the border to Myanmar, Naewna newspaper said.

 

Police  arrested Mr. Shahrukh Kareem Uddin, 27, a Pakistani holding Thai nationality, while travelling in a taxi to Kanchanaburi city. He was taken to the provincial police station to record his arrest and then to be sent to Nong Prue police station in Chonburi for interrogation, with this expected to take five hours.

 

Mr. Hans-Peter Mack, 62, had disappeared after driving from his house at a housing estate in Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, around noon on July 4 to go meet a foreign broker at Jomtien beach to discuss the purchase of a land plot on Koh Samui worth hundreds of millions baht.

 

On Monday night his dismembered body was found in a freezer at a townhouse in Chokchai Garden Home 1 estate. The body had been cut up into 13 parts separately placed in black plastic bags and put into this freezer which was plugged in at a bedroom. His head had deep wounds showing he had been hit several times. His body parts were sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for autopsy.

Pakistani man arrested for gruesome murder of German businessman

Officers from Kanchanaburi Provincial Police Station managed to arrest a Pakistani man allegedly involved in the gruesome murder of German businessman Hans Peter Mack.

 

Following the discovery of Mack’s chopped-up remains in the freezer of a rental house in Pattaya, police officers conducted a further investigation until the evidence led to three suspects, including 52 year old Olaf Thorsten Brinkmann, 54 year old Petra Christl Grundgreif, and another unidentified Pakistani man.

 

The German woman Grundgreif yesterday surrendered herself to the police. Then, officers managed to arrest the German man, Brinkmann, last night at a nightclub in On Nut, Bangkok.

Pakistani – Thai Suspect in Murder of Hans Peter Mack Arrested in Kanchanaburi

 

 

A team from the Region 2 Police led by Major General Teerachai Chamnanmor arrested the last suspect, Mr. Sahruk Kareem Uddin, 27, a Pakistani national with Thai citizenship.

 

He was arrested while he was getting off a taxi in Kanchanaburi City before reportedly planning on heading to Myanmar on Wednesday (July 12th). He is as of press time being taken back to the Nongprue Police Station which will take about five hours.

 

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, July 11th, the Thai police arrested Mr. Olaf Thorsten Brinkmann, a 52-year-old German national, who was also one of the prime suspects and who police allege was the ringleader of the crime.

I would imagine that if the Germans are guilty, they will likely die in prison . 20 years from plod and additional 30 years from TAT for blackening Thailand's image 

The usual outcome of these cases is that we never hear the outcome. If the perps are very wealthy, they are deported.

 

In this case, I suspect that the defendants will claim that one of them performed the killing, which was a big shock to them. So, one may bear the brunt of the penal or financial damages.

Stupid old grandad 'gang' members, still thinking their teens, and still think they can get away with crimes, that years ago, they could get away with, forensics and DNA have changed, they have not.

Australia had big problems with these gangs, hence outlawing them, they literally got away with murder. Also once you join their gang (jeez just like playground bullies who never grew up) you are not allowed to leave.

I worked in a remote area and a guy moved in next door and told me this, he was evading them by getting a job away from these dickheads.

These 3 have to be some of the dumbest criminals  in a loong time....Why they thought this poorly thought out plan was going to work I have no idea...

I think they were rumbled when the payments were not kept up at Makro so they tried repossessing the Freezer.

So the Thai/Pakistani family has started singing like a canary and blaming others for this brutal murder. The fact is all three are guilty. Thought they could make a few million went tits up so they butchered him. Evidence and CCTV showed the Indian purchasing the Cordless Chainsaw he didn't have a gun pointing at his back when he walked in the department store to purchase it.

Loads of them on the run, up in the NT. 

 

I was staying at a company apartment up in Darwin and summons from the court would appear weekly for one of the guys staying there. He was from Brissy IIRC.

 

Eventually he did another runner when Police arrived to apprehend him. He must have known they were coming as he had packed his bag but had no time to take it with him. When I got back from work it was out the front of the apartment but he was nowhere to be seen. Never saw him again after that.

don't be surprised if these three culprits end up back in their home country after pay a few million baht each .... TIT and that's how it works here.  The wheels will slowly turn after a couple of years and a few atm transfers will just magically happen overnight and before you know it they are back home either still in custody or possibly free depending on the amount .....

Yes Peter lifted in Kanchanaburi trying to flee across the border.

Bail Opposed for Suspects in Murder of German Businessman

 

 

CHONBURI, July 13 (TNA) – The police oppose bail for suspects arrested for their alleged involvement in murdering and dismembering a German national in Chon Buri province.

 

The victim’s body, found stuffed in a freezer has led to the arrest of Mr. Olaf, Ms. Petra and Ms. Nicole, the tenant of the house used to store the freezer containing the body.

 

Earlier today, the three suspects were brought to seek the Pattaya Provincial Court for their detention.

Speedboat linked to German broker’s murder seized in Pattaya raid

 

 

Pattaya cops confiscated a speedboat owned by a main suspect in the brutal murder of German businessman Hans Peter Mack. The suspect, 52 year old Olaf Thorsten Brinkmann, is implicated in the murder of the 62 year old German property tycoon. Police believe that Brinkmann might have planned to use the speedboat to dispose of Mack’s butchered remains in the ocean.

 

A police source said that a German friend of Brinkmann, who stored the boat, informed police upon hearing about his arrest.

 

The friend informed investigators that on Saturday, July 8, Brinkmann asked for help with moving the speedboat from Nong Krabok Soi 4 to the Chokchai Garden Home estate in Nong Prue. The friend told Brinkmann that the next day, he would try to tow the boat to Pattaya’s Ocean Marina Pier. However, due to the boat lacking registration papers, it could not be moored there. He then brought the boat to Phra Tamnak Soi 5.

 

Found footage from a fishing supplies store revealed another suspect, 27 year old Sahruk Kareem Uddin, along with Brinkmann, buying gear at a shop. Police arrested Uddin, a Pakistani man who holds Thai citizenship, in Kanchanaburi yesterday afternoon while he was lying low.

 

Police believe that these two men were conspiring to dispose of Mack’s corpse in the sea to purge any evidence. However, they found the victim’s mutilated body concealed in a fridge in a rented house in Nong Prue on Monday night, July 10, almost a week after the German’s unannounced disappearance. Inside the house, police came across an electric saw, ropes, food seals, and an assortment of beverages. The victim’s butchered remains were discovered in bags inside the 1.50 metre-long refrigerator, reported Bangkok Post.

The saw must be covered in blood and bits of flesh.  DNA  and prints must be covered all over the chainsaw and the freezer. Its not Rocket Science recovering DNA and prints from the suspects.

A good clean, and the plod have a nice weekend toy - fridge for the beers too if they can stomach it.
