Popular Post MrMojoRisin Posted July 19, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 19, 2023 The best outcome for Future Forward (and Thailand) is for them to move to the opposition benches and let Pheu Thai reveal their true colours by joining with junta lackeys such as Anutin and the Democrats. FF will utterly destroy all these clowns in the next election and will be able to reform Thailand unhindered. Rome wasn’t built in a day. 20 3 1 1 11 5 5
Popular Post webfact Posted July 19, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted July 19, 2023 PITA SUSPENDED By Erich Parpart Move Forward Party Leader, Pita Limjaroenrat, has been suspended from his duties as an MP. The Constitutional Court unanimously made this decision in light of an ongoing investigation into his eligibility to hold office. The investigation stems from his ownership of 42,000 iTV shares. The Election Commission (EC) has stated that Pita may not meet the requirements for holding office due to his ownership of media shares, which is prohibited by the charter for political officeholders. As a result, the EC has requested the court to rule on Pita’s eligibility in this matter. Popular Post webfact Posted July 19, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted July 19, 2023 Forward no more: MFP leader Pita Limjaroenrat suspended from Parliament duty by Constitutional Court Pita Limjaroenrat, the leader of Move Forward Party, centre. Picture courtesy of AP. Pita Limjaroenrat, the leader of the Move Forward Party (MFP) and a candidate for the prime ministerial position, has been suspended from his role as an elected member of the House of Representatives by the Constitutional Court. The court’s decision came after accepting a complaint regarding Pita’s ownership of shares in the now-defunct media company, iTV Plc. According to the constitution, Parliamentarians are prohibited from holding stocks in media organizations. The 42 year old MFP leader argued that the 42,000 shares were part of his late father’s estate, which he managed as the executor. He claimed that the ownership had been transferred to relatives since then. Popular Post spidermike007 Posted July 19, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 19, 2023 If they are not even going to allow a second vote, this means the people have to rise up. This is a call for a revolution, by the governing bodies, who appear to be hellbent on stealing this election, no matter the cost. They were never prepared for an election, and due to their hubris, I guess they never expected to lose in such a commanding manner. The people will not tolerate these goons much longer. My theory is that the army brass already knows this, and are now forming an escape plan. Hopefully into exile, but far better, into prison. They can fight a few tens of thousands. They cannot possibly beat many millions. And that is what we will see when this army created debacle is over with. They are utterly desperate to hang onto power, and access to the trillions of baht that likely generates for them. Using the LM and sedition laws shows how utterly intolerant of criticism these very small, very weak men are, that they need to hide behind and utilize these laws, to attempt crush the will of the people. The fact that they are not even willing to discuss any sort of reform says it all. 12 5 14 6 5
Popular Post Bangkok Barry Posted July 19, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 19, 2023 Ah, if only he hadn't broken the rules by holding shares. Anyone naive enough to do that and think it would be ignored hasn't got the brain matter to be an MP, let alone PM. Sad but true. Right, let's have a bet on when the tanks will roll. 5 2 3 8 1
Popular Post kingstonkid Posted July 19, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 19, 2023 Now we know why the EC waited until the last minute. If I was a conspiracy person I would think this was set in stone a long time ago. This is why a party should have 2 names at least that it can move forward with although neither would have been acceptable. This means that the Senate now has to deal with Seretha this should be interesting. Do the bounce him because he is in a coalition with the MFP. I can see this vote tomorrow being a no-show again. The bad news is for anyone trying to get anywhere near MBK or Siam paragon. It is going to get busy and noisy there real soon. 3 3
