Ethyl?

or

Methyl?

What about gasohol E20?

Without ethanol rotting the brain cells, memorization of vocabulary should become more efficient.

It's no secret that the Mormon missionary youth in Taiwan (and elsewhere) are super proficient at foreign language acquisition.

They don't drink ethanol, nor tea, nor do they take caffeine or use tobacco.

It shows.

They always seem so happy...

No alcohol.

Are you suggesting we (more like some) stop posting every little thought that pops into our (again, more like some) heads?  Oh the humanity.

I hold back

God on their side

I am convinced that health is on their side.

I have spoken with many of them in Taiwan.

They are weird, but nice, if you keep a healthy distance.

(I can understand their point about abstinence concerning alcohol and tobacco. But I don't understand the part about no vaginal sex until just after wedlock.)

I never counted the non-alcohol days or promised I won't touch it for x days of weeks or whatever.

If you do this, then it seems you have a problem with alcohol.

I don't know how common this is, but for me it's like this: If I feel like drinking wine or beer or whisky, then I do that. Maybe I drink a glass or two, or maybe more. It depends on my mood and how I feel.

If I drink with friends in a bar, then I might drink a lot. And at some point, my body will tell me: That's enough! And then I stop. That's it.

And likely for the next days I don't want to drink any alcohol.

And maybe a week later I do the same. Or I don't drink at all. It's a how do I feel about it today question.

What's the point of making plans not to drink for 3 weeks?

P.S.: I know one guy who has a reason to tell himself not to drink for 3 weeks. He owns a few bars and being there with friends and customers who get drunk or are drunk is difficult when sober. His solution is to go "to work" but don't stay until "everybody" is wasted.

No plan. Just didnt feel like a drink. I tend to feel like a drink every 3 or 4 weeks.

Far better to feel like a drink,

Rather than to feel like a drunk, maybe...

Can't relate to the issue not being a drinker at all, quit smoking though several years ago, which i loved, owing to health concerns, other than that, no vices at all, a real angle I'm.
