Thankfully your not in charge. They displayed extraordinary patience. Your appointed to go locate, disarm and arrest  Putin armed with a skate board or even a paddle board.

Is "attempted assault" an offence?  Surely it is either "assault" or no assault?!

This is one instance, where I think the police not only behaved properly, but were downright graceful in the way they handled this goon. I do not think the cop was ever in danger, and it appeared that they knew they had the creep under control. Kudos to them. An over reaction, or an American style "police commando response" would have gotten alot of bad press.
