How much monthly salary should you pay for rescuing a bar girl?

As we see many Farang White Knights like to rescue the bargirls from the bar and take them on as a girlfriend or wife.

The big difference between having a normal girlfriend and a bar girlfriend is mostly the new fella with a bargirl will want her to give up her job.

With a normal girl with a respectful job this does not need to happen.

A. Since she will now have a full time job 24/7 and not as much time off you should pay her more than she was getting before. She will in most cases be expected to do housework and help the farang with his day to day life and be a translator.

B. Since you are stopping her from earning you should pay her what she was getting previously.

C. She now has it easier in some ways so a minimum type wage will be sufficient.

D. Food, board and medical expenses is enough, and some cash to pay for her children from other fathers.

E. Let her stay at your place but give her nothing and let her keep working.

Why a bar girl? Any Thai lady may need some financial support. My wife was working in one of those tour agencies in Patong when I met her, and was making up to 30k a month. In those years I was making around 20k USD a month, so I thought a monthly allowance of 50k Baht was ok.

And to reassure @scubascuba15 years later we are still together and had very decent sex last night.

For the single and uninitiated, keep in mind, you are not only paying her a monthly wage, but you are also paying all of her upkeep. This includes food, entertainment, face creams, moisturizers, makeup, medicine, doctors, dentists, travel, eating out, and far more. Those expenses are typically at least as much of her salary, or more. So, count on dishing out plenty of cash. If you have limited income, this can be daunting.

Most importantly, take your time to get to know her. Alot of guys fall in love with the idea of being in love. And they devote their heart to a woman who is undeserving. So, the best course of action, if to take you time to get to know her. Time allows clarity. If it is good it will only get better. If there are problems they will manifest themselves over time. Many women will attempt to push the timeline. Get you to move faster than you want. Real men push back. If she wants to walk, let her. This is why you do not allow yourself to get emotionally invested, until you really know who she is. That takes a year, or two, or longer. If she shows you she is not worthy of your affection, and attention, you walk away.

Man up. Pay tribute to your gender. Show yourself some self respect. Do not allow yourself to be abused, and treated like a street dog.

With the exception of the men who are clever enough to hire a private detective to look into her background, and pay some real money to do it right, there is no way to know. They all have stories. And most of the stories are ones that they know we want to hear. So many times I have heard friends say, "Oh no, she is new. She has only been working at the bar two weeks. I was her first customer. She worked in a factory before that. I could tell how innocent she was". Yeah right! The real question is, do you have long term intentions with this woman? Do you see yourself living here with her into the future, and making a life with her? How well do you know her family? Do you like and trust them? If you answered yes to these questions, the first thing I would do, would be to spend a mere 20,000 baht to hire a private detective to look into her. They can find out if she is online with profiles, they can dig up info about her past, etc. If you already harbor suspicions about her, they may be warranted.

Did you make her stop working in the Patong tour company?

Most of the fellas who take on a bargirl dont want them working anymore.

80,000 per month seems a bit high? She couldnt live on 30,000?

Thanks. It is just reality. Sure, I suppose one could be cold and just deny them. But, if you like the gal, you want to take care of her. Why live with her otherwise. So, just by virtue of inviting her to live with you, you are making somewhat of a commitment. And an obligation. It is always more of an obligation than it appears to be. And women are always more expensive to maintain, than you think they will be!

Strange question really, as it depends on your and her living costs. It used to be common for a husband to give their wife "housekeeping" and money for things like clothes and make-up. If she's not earning any more, how is she expected to survive? 5,000 baht a week seems fair if it's just for her. A lot more, if she's paying for the household's food etc.

Mama's monthly salary should be in there too. You have to be doubly lucky. It's no good having a girlfriend who makes reasonable demands for herself if there is a greedy Mama in the background. Likely she is being "remoted" by the old biddies in the village.

A friend pays 25k a month to keep it in the village, but who knows if it sneaks back pattaya moment he's airbourne. He's getting mugged off imo and I don't think it does any good, there always extras he has pony up, and they just see him as a walking ATM when he visits. She should get a job, even 7/11, and then if he wants to supplement that a little then fair enough, but not my life or money... I tune out when he starts moaning about it now ????

I know guys who have met bar girls, or massage gals, and ended up having long term relationships with them, that were good for both of them. A prostitute is not necessarily a prostitute. We have to define that, and there are an infinite number of variation of that definition. If someone is fortunate enough to rescue a good gal from a massage shop or a bar, within the first few months of her working there, it is quite possible she is still normal, and emotionally healthy. The trick is determining how long she has been at it. That can be difficult, as they all have a story.

So, how many? Many of us think there is a sort of sliding scale of damage.

In my opinion, up to 150 men (beginner), no big deal.

150-500 men (BAB - been around the block), she is experienced, but will likely be fine, if she has a good heart, and a strong mind.
500-1000 men (AVEG - a very experienced gal) is approaching the point where there very well might be some long term psychological damage.
1000-2000 men (ASP - a serious pro), and there is likely to be long term bitterness towards men.

2000 men (ATW - around the world) and over, and there is little chance of being able to engage emotionally in a healthy manner, ever again. And there could be physical issues too. There are likely exceptions. But not many.

If over 500, it will likely be harder for her to relate to men as decent human beings. Once you get to the AVEG, ASP, or ATW level, all bets are off. The heart hardens, and more than likely she is bitter for life. I am sure there are exceptions. But, the risk in getting involved with a highly experienced bar girl, or massage girl, is very, very high.

How does one know? Without hiring a private detective, you likely never will, and the one who claims one month of working in the bar, could have worked in four other bars, and a short time massage shop, for years, prior to you meeting her. So, are you looking at BAB, AVEG, or ASP?

I didn't ask myself that kind of questions. Just couldn't be involved with a girl and let her [just] survive on 30k, while I was making 600k. Would have been preposterous IMO.

IMHO if you know already that you will look for another girl in a few months or years then make sure she gets paid for whatever services she gives you. And make sure that after the services for you she will be able to work again.
