It seems he is so blind that he needs someone to take his hand to guide him to the doctor.

With deteriorating health like that he should definitely stay in the desert and avoid travel and any stress.

Maybe he can convince his daughter to say with him, just in case he needs to see a doctor again.

It's so sad...

I thought it would have been a lot cheaper for his sister to pop to the eye doctor with him as she is already there in the country as well as plenty more minions.

What a performance and this airhead is bidding to become prime minister, more concerned about taking pics to upload to Tik Tok and Instgram..

You would think he might have been a bit shy when having a personal examination, but true to form, his narcissism trumped it.

I bet that lot in Dubai think the Thais are crackers!

There is hope.

Finally, after many years, many Thaksin and PT supporters realize that that party and their leader was never about democracy. It's about power and money - and it always was.

I don't know what will happen in the next weeks and months. But I am pretty sure that whatever government will come now won't last very long. And then there is a lot of hope for the next government.

And that hope will be extinguished once more, as it has been in recent weeks and several times before. Groundhog Day until the end of time.

I guess you forgot all the terrible things he did 20 years ago.

'Thousands of extra-judicial killings' ring a bell?

I guess you forgot that someone who cannot be named said to Mr T "something must be done" re the drug gangs. Ring a bell?

Probably forgotten by most, but doesn't justify the unlawful killing of innocent people - that's excluding known and confirmed drug dealers that probably only accounted for a small majority of the killings.

Well founded thinking for some of the Thais.

I wonder if the eye test is related the the mysterious condition that prevents travel to Thailand but not Cambodia

There was no birthday party in Thailand,.

Only a prison bus ride, singing " I've got the Bangkok Hilton Blues "

Misinformation bells ring loud.

Since you were not here, please read Human Rights Watch's very extensive reports on the subject.

I know you've deceived me, now here's a surprise
I know that you have 'cause there's magic in my eyes
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
If you think that I don't know about the little tricks you've played
And never see you when deliberately you put things in my way

"I've been seeing spots..."

"Have you seen a doctor?"

"No. Just spots."

I don't ever fully forget people I don't trust, and I suggest that's a normal / sensible reaction for all.

This criminal hates foreigners by the way, like many Chinese/Thai.

I guess you don't know that.

If you think Thaksin was the driving force behind the drug war then you are utterly clueless on the topic.

Ditto Tak Bai.

Good points.

I wouldn't trust the paymaster with a loan of 1 Baht.

He/his sister and cronies had no hesitation to try a tricky vote in the Thai parliament at 3:00 am in the morning and using voting cards of parliamentarians who had gone home, to get a YES to allowing him to get back into Thailand regardless of the fact he had broken and been convicted of several serious laws.

Who constructed this strategy?

You're allowed one guess only and you don't need any clues.

Yet the current illegal coup caretaker PM found a better way to get an amnesty.

Simply pull a military coup, steal the entire country at the point of a gun. Tear up the existing constitution and get a new one written by your mates, that gives you and all your mates an amnesty for ALL past, present and future acts.

Promise the Thai people whatever they want, knowing that once you are in total control, they won't get anything anyway,

The classic response of a dupe.

Yeah, Thaksin is the problem not the entrenched establishment that has deliberately created the one of the most unequal societies on the globe.

Your repeating your error .

Criticism of Thaksin doesn't mean defence of the establishment.

And now Toni's queueing up to join the establishment.

Years back it was reported several times (with pics) that he had his old Thai GF with him in Dubai. Regardless of that I'm guessing he has several personal staff in Dubai.

Then why does he needs his daughter to travel so far to take him to the doctor?

Does he have dementia?

Or, if he's coming back to LOS soon there's several world class eye hospitals / specialists here in LOS.

Looking at that 'eye test' picture I applaud his employment of a Saudi lady to watch his back.

Why is it a joke?

I have to see one doctor in September about one problem, and a different doctor in a different hospital about a different problem. If you don't listen to your doctor, your life can get difficult very quickly.

I, like you have no idea why he went for an eye exam but at his age (74) having an eye problem can complicate your life very much.

I didn't start wearing glasses until I was 50, my first wife in the UK started wearing them at 11 years old.

I admire his daughter for travelling to Dubai even if all she does for Thaksin is simply be there.

https://www.webmd.com/eye-health/eye-doctors-optometrists-ophthalmologists#1-1

There are two main types of eye doctors: ophthalmologists and optometrists.

Confused about which is which and who does what? Here's a look at how they're different.

Keep in mind that these professionals can work together and that a team approach can be the best option for eye care.

Optometrists are not doctors, they are technicians. There is only one type of eye doctor, and that's an ophthalmologist.

He was due to be in Thailand on August 10th. He cancelled his plans due to 'doctors orders' but we see him getting an eye exam on the 15th - almost a week later. We do not know if this is even a real picture, if it is a doctor or a technician, a hospital or an opticians.... there is nothing to show that he needed to stay where he was.

He was just next door in Cambodia for a birthday party with another dictator on Saturday the 5th, but was fine to fly off to Dubai at the end of the party.

He is a self serving, lying piece of sh+t. Not only that, but he is a billionaire with a fleet of private jets. Are you telling me he didn't have the resources to come back and face justice... or is it more likely that he didn't come back because he was afraid of his ass getting pounded in a Thai prison?

Nothing supports the establishment more than regurgitating nonsense Thaksin junta propaganda.

This is obvious to all reasonable and rational individuals.
