Maybe, just maybe, something good can come of this.

But Hi-so Thais and politicians will have to accept that this cannot be dismissed as the 'one bad apple' theory, but that this corrupt behaviour is widespread and occurs in almost every small town, village and province in Thailand. Kamnan Nok is Thailand.

Kamnan Nok scandal lifts lid on Thai bureaucracy’s corruption crisis

Not quite lifting the lid. More like tearing off the top of a small yoghurt pot next to a huge bubbling vat.

Theses kind of scenes has by far surpassed every and any lawless third world country where the law means virtually nothing if you know the right people, i don't know how Thai people can live with such shame, which doesn't seems to bother them much.

You say 'not bothered much', that isn't quite correct, the country is run on what one could loosely call a mafia style of management, in such circumstances one keeps ones nose clean and looks in another direction. Only the brave or foolish try to change things for the better. I dare say that many western countries have similar methods of control, just more subtle and not so violent, instead of a bullet to the head one is ruined financially or politically or a long forgotten dark deed from the past gets dredged up and you find yourself in prison.

should be finished very soon.... 9 years ago the military guy that grabbed power said is #1 objective  was to fight government corruption, the new NOT elected PM and the NEW Appointed (Not elected) Interior minister just said the same thing thus hope should be the last thing to die, they will get there, when??? your guest is as good as mine, but soon....  555

Throughout Thai history, every incoming king has tried to reform the government and courts. It's always worked for a while, and then human nature exerts itself.

Sure it doesn't bothers some.

But I believe there's many more who are quite unhappy with this situation but are frightened of the consequences to object or discuss the problem.

Once Thaksin gets out of jail, I'm confident that he's going to clean out the swamp and return democracy to the people! The sooner the better ????

Corruption here is the same as it was in the 1920 in Chicago.

It is the same as all the killings and gun violence in major cities in the u.s.  it has been happening so long andis so rampant people have a choice

Ignore it

Report it an risk reprisal.

Why do you think the defamation laws are the way they are.

Why the sarcastic comment? Around 10 or so. Out of 10 or so that have gone elsewhere for a more than a brief holiday and had their eyes opened.

Ah, and so you asked me if it was hundreds or thousands. Okay. Common sense would have told you that wasn't the case.

In another report CCTV footage and other evidence destroyed / missing.

Yes, that's correct but it was recovered.

"CCTV recordings showed Praween and his aide leaving the house with a police escort"

Could also be that in this particular instance they are referring to CCTV retrieved from other cameras in the same street.

Didn’t the general give his family members contract for catering food for the military? Amazing Thailand. Tit

Plus the generl's sistr in law appointed herself to be above the law and ordered a red carpet and guard be present to watch her arrive and order folks around. She had no rank, no employment status whateve in the miitary. And at the same time her lower general husband P's younger brother) was granting work contracts to their son.

Just love this! 29 cops partying at home of corrupt local bigwig. Doubtless all gambling though that's not mentioned. The bigwig host asks one of his bigwig cop guests as a favour that his nephew, presumably a cop then,  be promoted and is rebuffed. So his "aide" just shoots and kills the bigwig cop. Host and aide plus cops various then flee the scene together. There isn't a Wild West film bar scene that could compete with this! TIT...Thailand is it seems the Wild East. Even more extraordinary than the news story of 2 gangster guys at a wedding party who had a shoot out in the car park of the venue and succeeded in killing each other and wounding one or more of their molls.

I feel for the pro coup Westerners.

20 years of claiming Thailand had to have coup after coup to rid the land of evil Shinawatra corruption.

And now what?

Thaksin was out of power for 10 years and yet corruption has not abated.

Who to blame?

It must be very confusing for them now that Thaksin and the military are on the same team.

How to rid the land of corruption.

Another coup?

If so by who?

Surely by now, even these cowardly pro coup Westerners can see that democracy is the answer.

Coups are undertaken to ensure corruption continues.

My wife is among the many you mentioned who only comes back to visit family and even then she dreads it. Her eyes are wide open and she is embarrassed of how Thai society and the government is run.
