Are SONY's Headphones Better than .... THESE?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Approximately two weeks ago, one of the members of this forum criticized me for listening to music using my 10 loudspeakers in my room.

They thought, mistakenly, that I did not know about the benefits of headphones.

The member stated that He/She used Sony headphones.

And, I can only assume that the Sony headphones he/she was using had decent separation.

But, do his/her headphones have Seven Degrees of Separation?...

As do mine?

Also, as deaf as most of you probably are, then does it really matter?

Anyway, during the past three hours, I finally found my BACKUP set of ATH headphones.

I have used them only twice.

Do you think that the member's Sony headphones are any better than mine, for all practical purposes?

Do you even have any evidence?

And then, what is wrong with my using 10 loudspeakers, sometimes?

I do not get this point, either?

Therefore, the question of this topic, the main question, in addition to the other more minor questions, is what phones are you using?

And, do you like them?

And why?

And, why don't you, too, sometimes lock yourselves in your rooms, with 10 loudspeakers, and just BLAST AWAY....

As you know, this pair here is my backup set.

I buy things in pairs.

Sometimes I buy three or four of everything.

We are not living in NYC where you can just go downstairs and buy anything you need.

Thailand is not a consumer oriented country.

How do I know this is true?

Maybe just because, ...

Lazada has not made big inroads in America, or in Key Largo, even.

Are your phones better than mine?

I doubt it.

And why am I not surprised...

I forgot to add that I have just tested these backup phones on this....

No idea but a decent pair of headphones will trounce a decent sound system as there is no room acoustics to take into consideration. You also don’t upset neighbours with horrible music. ????

You enjoy your music as how you want to enjoy your music . Are there better thing out there , maybe but you are still the one who listen . Once you come to a certain lvl , the differences after become much smaller . You are now in the so called audiophile area and basically everything goes. Imho , if you like it , ok , if  you do want it even better , look around , but do not keep chasing shadows . 1 person likes B&W other likes KEF and another likes Triangle ... all are right , it is all personal choice .

Totally agree with your thought that headphones protect others, but not oneself.

Everybody should have a pair of Audio-Technica headphones....

ESPECIALLY, those at Thai Temples.

But what about your music sources? Are you still utilising your old cassette tapes and/or using YouTube rips as a source or have you updated your sources as time passed by?
