Hmmm.... just on the topic of "corruption", seems to me from my read of Thai history, that corruption long pre-dates Thaksin, and is still going strong in various entities.  Of course political corruption is not unique to Thailand.  However, in the countries that manage to keep it more or less under control, things such as the economy and general governance do seem to work better.  How to get things to change in Thailand?   It will require a major cultural change in attitudes.  Darned if I know how you get that to happen.

I think he’d be a good advisor. He had some great ideas and was pro foreigners. Sure a bit corrupt, but aren’t they all? As long as they just listen to his advice on what worked and don’t take it as gospel.

Well it could be, although I am not saying it actually is, a step in the right direction as unlike the last two PMs, one of which was only a PM because of his soldiers, tanks, and guns, he was actually elected at one time.

But frankly, Thaksin running the country could be what Thailand needs. The leadership has been poor since he left.

Yes and get more Baht for your GBP. It has gotten worse since 2014, and the way I see it, manipulated by an unelected PM and his soldiers.

Let's hope so. He got away with

it last time though. 

Little by little people with flashlights in hands will look for Prayut to put him back in charge. 
 

 

They need him as an advisor on how not to get caught, and cover up all illegal actions. Still, it shows how incompetent they really are, and they are just continuing down the same path that caused the problems twice before.

Yet, the second time around was highly questionable - and the manipulated/corrupted mechanics, thereof - as to if it was real. Recent historic perspectives will be quite variable as to the legitimacy of it all.
