You don't HAVE to reply to posters , you dint have to converse with them

That's true, however when one is in the middle of ongoing "discussions" and some idiot decides to butt in with something totally untrue to contradict what I have posted, I don't always reply or converse with them, I just put them on ignore – – simple and trouble-free.

I just checked, I have two pages of ignored users. This list grew over several years, probably a good part of those users doesn't exist anymore in this forum.   I don't ignore users if they

None....   its easy enough to just ignore a post if we don't wish to engage.    Someone was going on my ignore list the other day, then I couldn't be bothered and just ignored them.

So wrong on two counts: – have never been an impatient and angry guy, so your guess is way off the mark. More a much respected and successful manager of teams in the sporting and business fields, with accolades to prove it.

True it's not my forum, however what I decide to read or post I consider my "personal space". So as they say (well almost) in Thailand, "up to me".

just curious about the number you have banned to the phantom zone.

I’ve thrown a lot down in the dungeon, I don’t want to look to see how many, it’s too much of an eyesore

IMO ignore lists should be transparent. Board members should be able to see who is on everyone else's list and whom is "ignoring" them.

Same applies to "Likees/emojis". Why should we not know the identity of those who like or dislike our posts or find them funny, puzzling, or sad?

The proliferation of anonymous and inappropriate use of the "sad" and "confused" emojis, since they became anonymous, has allowed certain members to troll away without being held to account.

Just for information - I have never used the "ignore" button, and I never will.

Actually I don't hold grudges, it's just that I don't like trying to "converse" with idiots because it's a waste of my time – – pure and simple.

PS. Most of them are much more recent!!

Yes indeed.

and one who persists in putting the same very tedious signature after every short post

And he replies to every single post. I know that guy, regards....

But no one is on my ignore list. What's the point?

The people who publicly state "you're going on my ignore list" like it's a big deal are almost certainly the same people who start the "should we ban emojis" threads. Snowflakes who can't engage in a discourse.

And the same ones who report you....

Totally agree.

I think it could be a little embarrassing for some members.

Agreed, the names /emojies should be given as it was previously so you can decide if they are intelligent or just thick as a brick and worth opening any further discussion.

About 30. Just saves time scrolling thru the trash. Only 5 or 6 good posters on any forum. Good to save time.

I would never ignore anyone who has opposing political, religious or lifestyle views - it helps to know your "enemy", or at least have a good laugh at them.  However I recently, for the first time in 15 years on the forum, put three tedious members on ignore.

Why would you consider someone who has an opposing "political, religious or lifestyle views " views your enemy, Having one's views challenged is favor that either points out your error, or straightens your beliefs.

And please remove my name from the your list, I swear it was not me, someone hacked my account.

If its only 5 or 6 good posters in a forum, why waste time on such a forum?

Most of the time some people knowingly or unknowingly sets up one self on an ivory tower - from up there they feel all down below are inferior to themselves - sad situation...

To be very honest, I have observed many people who are totally different in character in real life and on social media, forums etc.
