In the center, it seems to be more of the young punk middle east kids. Surprised there are not more accidents as they seem very inexperienced and lack proper control of their bikes.

It looks like a few simple police barricades set up across the lanes and manned with 2 police each every night would do it. Put perhaps difficult to take down after their bottle of whisky?

A proper police force would employ a pincer movement.  Let 'em race then seize the bikes and run a steamroller over them.  A more permanent solution than temporary dispersal.

Why can't the cops set up checkpoint/roadblocks on the highway and pull these morons over and possible arrest a few?

Aren't the police supposed to do something to stop this?

Should be fairly easy even for the RTP, set up a few roadblocks and seize the bikes? Or is too much like hard work, or perhaps there's no money in it, who knows?

Cord off the road at both ends, impound all the vehicles and release them against a fine of THB 10'000 - or destroy them on site. Done so in other countries with lasting effect - surprise, surprise ????

Nah.  I'm just sticking to tried and proven methods.  They've already used the blue water cannons on protestors.  Nobody seemed the worse for wear. 

 

They probably still have the equipment sitting idle, primed and ready for the next protest.  That'll save them money over mines and bullets.

I can't imagine a Thai cop bothering to do anything (regarding enforcement) physical after the sun sets if it doesn't include a bribe.

Hwy 36 is clear enough to be a racetrack in the wee hours.. that is surprising, can't get on the damned road at 5.30pm, it is so busy!
