I don't want to rent a hotel and just sleep in my tent on a beach. Should I be afraid of police?

Maikhao beach in north phuket is good for camping and has all what you want. There are also camp grounds.

Camp ground is the minimum standard to look for.

Some organized site.

There is overnight camping/sleeping in tents in the national parks.

But I never saw that for the beaches.

On Maikhao beach we had always camping on beach and camp grounds on beach sure for 30 years like phuket camp ground.

Since Covid, Police is more leniant concerning Thais sleeping on the beach.

i would be concerned about them stealing your stuff during the night, OP.

You could also rent an old minivan and make it as a temporary home, travel far as you want and explore local lifestyle on your own and stay low on radar. You can get showers at any gyms as well, life is an adventure, just sayin'...

Stupid idea. You can pay for camping grounds if you want to be in a tent.

Otherwise a big chance to even make the news or be deported, they dont want free stayers here.

This must he some troll post.

He can stay in a cheap hotel or guest house for a few baht per night and have shower and aircon

Thinking setting up a tent on Ao Yon or Panwa beach

It's illegal in Thailand.

Go to Australia and holiday, they like your type, you'll probably be offered social security befefits, free medical etc.

Have fun ????
