A brutal domestic violence incident involving a minor celebrity and his girlfriend has become the talk of the town in Thailand.

The couple’s dispute, revealed in CCTV footage, was ignited when the 43 year old woman discovered that her 38 year old boyfriend, a supporting actor in various TV shows, had been unfaithful to her with five other women.

The couple, who had been acquainted for five to six years and had been seriously dating for the past two years, had a relatively peaceful relationship until last year.

The man was said to have initially taken good care of the woman until she discovered his infidelity in September. Upon confrontation, the man violently attacked the woman, leaving visible injuries on her body and eyes.

Sounds like hired help more than gf.

On the contrary. Sounds like she was "lending" (giving) him money on a regular basis. Basically a sugar mama who got sick of sponsoring his lifestyle and instead of accepting her loss and stupidy decided to cause some drama in the process of leaving him. He's not a good guy, sure, but she's not a good woman either from what it sounds like.

It sounds like she was  giving him money?    Why else would a thai guy be with a woman 20% older than him?

If she just could have controlled her jealousy.

I'm awfully bad at math and would appreciate your help. How does  one calculate these 20%?

Minor celeb, now hopefully jailed minor celeb, with no fans.

No. Thai law says as long as he didn't do it recently he can get away scot-free. Absolutely zero punishment. The laws, of course, are written (almost?) entirely by men.
Unfortunately, due to the elapsed time since the incident, the police could not charge the man.

I once came into the kitchen to find my wife peeling small onions of about 2 - 3 cm or an inch with a meat cleaver. That sight has stayed with me and made me very careful, given that Thai women apparently have a liking for detaching men's tackle if upset.

I mentioned this to her a few months back and she told me she'd once hit her brother with one when they were young and he annoyed her. I jokingly asked "the sharp side or the blunt side?" The sharp side apparently. She thinks they were about between 7 and 10. What have I married? She's left handed as well, which wouldn't normally be a problem, but I'm beginning to wonder.

They're very quick to pick up a knife. generations of abuse by males has made a lot of them stand up for themselves, and they know, although easy for another man, it isn't easy for a female to fight a man. My ex came at me three times with a knife, two times because she was mad at her mom and once because I was trying to get her to talk about what was upsetting her. She backed down when I talked to her two times, and her sister got in between us once. Loose cannons abound here, and a lot of it is because of previous abuse by Thai males. It seems to be an ingrained thing here, picking up weapons to hurt another. Inability to use ones hands or feet in a fight prompts them to look for the nearest thing to use. I had to, until we divorced, keep an eye on her for the times she would go off for the slightest thing, with eyes going black and a look to kill. I'm sure some here besides you know exactly what I'm talking about.

If you are going to run around on your supposed serious relationship. Expect to be caught from time to time. Beating her up though is another thing all together. Just bow out , and cut the cord as peacefully as possible.  Money seems to solve all these problems in Thailand. Drop a few baht and move on.

Fortunately my wife has never been violent and I don't think she'd know how but it was just a strange sight seeing her peeling small onions with a meat cleaver. They seem to use those a lot. As for her brother I suspect it was a mistake by someone who was young but it was a strange story.

Your situation seems to have been far more serious and your reasoning is probably correct.
