It is possible to take screenshots of the touchscreen. Is it possible to access the screenshots or other data via a USB stick?

So, I was a little confused by this photo and the question about screenshots.

So today, waiting for the little lady, I had a little play around:

Swiping down from the top of the screen accesses Shortcuts and there’s a “ Screenshot “ button.

But by pressing the button it takes a screenshot of the home page and saves it, what use this is I am not sure unless I am missing something and you can screenshot any page or there is a hidden purpose to this action ??

Anyone ?

sorry for not providing any further explanation, I assumed that this feature was already known in this round. The only possible added value is that you can save these screenshots to the car's local storage. You can get this screenshot via Utility Tools/File Manager

and then Pictures/Screenshot.

My question was whether this or other car data can be saved on a USB stick or even on a smartphone?

After having a a little play I discovered that you can take a screenshot of any page, by swiping from the top, with the exception of 360° cameras I think.

These are saved in Utility Tools - File Manager - Pictures - Screenshots.

You then have the option to make your wallpaper, Edit and other stuff.

While making a wallpaper from your screen seems a little unlikely you could probably load some photos on a usb or sd card and take a screenshot/make your personal wallpaper of your dog, cat or even your wife/gf if you think it might get you some !!

Now, whether you can load these screenshots on to your usb I don’t know, but will certainly have a play around.

@sathornlover beat me to it !

Good to know in Thailand , we  have the option to disable till we enable it ( part of software menu) . This option available is invaluable as the comments I read on the video indicated that removing the ADAS function manually invalidates insurance coverage .

My problem with my seal was that I could neither make fine adjustments to the LLS nor turn it off! This feature, of all things, delivers what feels like 95% of these terrible warning tones. Luckily, my local repair shop was able to fix the problem enough to at least be able to turn LLS on or off. Fine adjustments are still not possible... However, a day later BYD offered us by phone to install the latest update on the car. That will happen tomorrow because we were away for a few days.

On the AWD car, can anyone tell me how to call up the page that shows the 0-100km/h acceleration times? I have attached a sample screenshot of what I want to view.

I’m sure it must be possible but I’m damned if I can find it.

The short answer is yes you can save the screenshot to a micro sd card or a usb flash drive , I couldn’t see any way to transfer a screenshot to iPhone with my phone plugged into CarPlay or likewise save photos from my phone to the car.

I loaded a usb and sd card with a couple of photos and plugged them in the car, by choosing the File Manager again and the relative sd and usb tabs I could resize to “ screen “ size and set as wallpaper.

IMG_2338.thumb.jpeg.5e7ab906a97265b364549b94b1dd2814.jpeg

IMG_2339.thumb.jpeg.558370a7dedbf2265118873d3cd5fa12.jpeg

I could then move a screenshot onto usb and sd card folders using a long press on the screenshot and choosing “ move “.

These screenshots can then be viewed on my laptop, as png files.

I think the option to put your favourite photo or background pattern as your screen wallpaper is great …… now where did I put that porn 🤔

I picked up my White Seal Performance today, it's booked in for a Frozenberry wrap on the 8th January.  I will post pics afterwards.

The dealer offered to fit my BYD camera tomorrow, hopefully for free.

Salesman told me he has the new price for the Seal Performance now and it's 75,000 baht more.

Congrats

You made the right choice, and if you are going to wrap it the colour is not that important, although i would say the white is beautiful, my second favourite !

I am surprised nobody has pressed the "Transport Mode" button, I did and I think it reduces the power to 40%.

You need a password to disengage it, the dealer didn't have a clue, google told me it's 1111 which worked.

I love finding these little features, it all adds to the joy of owning the car.

Can’t help @macahoom out with his 0-100 question though, I haven’t done a timed run so not much help. I wonder if it pops up after you have done the run but doesn’t retain it anywhere ?

Yes it does pop up. But I find it hard to believe it can't be retrieved. It has quite a lot of info on it, not just your latest 0-100 time.

It reminds me of the highest score list on a 70s space invaders game.

Usually I am highly critical, this one has a brain and pretty good product knowledge.  I hope my experience with the service department is equally as good.

I assumed that only the AWD had the acceleration timer; that's why I specified "On the AWD car".

Sorry about that!

You mean in total or just for the installation?

My saleswoman said it would be THB 4,000 for the cam and install - so I bought it and installed it myself....... took me about 15 minutes, including watching 3 YT videos.

I already had the camera, 2,000 baht on Shopee, so all in about 2,600 baht inc memory card.

I was going to do it myself, but I would probably have goosed it.

And it very well may not be there.

A few days after I got my Atto in late Oct 2023 and I was playing around in the Infotainment screens/menus I saw an Icon that said Transport Mode. And if I remember right I also saw the words Transport Mode appearing in the Infotainment screen like a Notification which is what triggered me to start looking for a Transport Mode icon/setting...eventually I found the Transport Mode icon.   I could not find anything/info about Transport Mode in the Atto manual.  When googling Transport Mode I found quite a few links explaining what it was and it varied from car to car....it's not just a BYD thing.

But basically in limits available power in certain situations like when parking the car for a weeks/etc., but normally it has no impact when the car is running.   And depending on the car it can be turned on and off in different ways.

I would guess that when BYD ships a car from the China factory all their cars are set to where the Transport Mode is turned on...and then it gets turned off by the dealership when delivering to the customer...and apparently the dealership may forget to turn it off sometimes.

Anyway, in my Atto it showed the Transport Mode was on, but when trying to turn it off it would always ask for a password which I didn't know.  Some more googling revealed the password was 1111 (i.e., four ones).  When I entered the password Transport Mode got turned off.  I then left the area/menu were that icon was and when I went back to that area/menu a few minutes later that Transport Mode icon was gone...nothing there...it had disappeared...MIA....and it's been gone ever since.

I haven't found from my googling in how to get it back but based on that googling it all depends on the particular car as to what sequence of button/menu pushing you need to go thru to turn transport mode back on (or off).   So, if you can find the Transport Mode icon in your BYD it most likely has been turned off and then immediately went MIA.

My transport button is still there, I have tried every button except the self-destruct button, I can’t find that one.

I am loving the car, the only thing I don’t like is the delay on the accelerator pedal, particularly when you blip it, the power comes in after a delay and continues to build after you’ve released the pedal. I have seen this before, I suspect it’s a power electronics issue, it’s present in MG’s too, but not all EV’s.

Yes, that's something I also don't like. I've been meaning to mention it.

It even happens when you launch it - left foot on the brake, floor the accelerator pedal and left foot off the brake. Feels weird.

I wonder why it's like that.
