Pattaya—At 3:00 AM, on November 11th, 2023, the Pattaya rescue squad received a report about a motorcycle-pedestrian accident report on Jomtien Beach Road, Bang Lamung, Chonburi. A serious injury was reported.

The Pattaya rescue volunteers and Bangkok-Pattaya medical team were dispatched to the incident scene and found Mr. Arne Helge Garvik, a 58-year-old Norweigian, in critical condition. The medical team then performed first aid before urgently transferring the wounded man to the Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital.

The motorcyclist who hit Arne was publicly identified as Mr. Hansen Riisbjerg, a 44-year-old Danish man, who was waiting for the police officers to arrive at the incident scene to give testimony.

Nothing unusual. Saw 2 accidents on beach road, while only visiting the city for 4 nights.

What are the odds of two guys one  from Norway the other from  Denmark crashing together  in a road accident at 3.0 am.. RIP.

RIP? Did he pass away?

Fortuner vs motorbike:

I always ask farangs to use a car if they love life.

Many don't care unfortunately.😔

It wasn't "Fortuner vs motorbike".

Even only 2 bikes. A car accident wouldn't have that result

I agree, it's not impossible, but seems rather unlikely unless there's been some premeditation.

"As a result, Arne bounced into a car that was parked nearby"

Yeah, at 58 you don't bounce so well. Arne was just unlucky, I guess, but wandering about at 3am does lower your luck points.

There'll soon be another two hours a night of this mayhem.

Tourists assume they are in a country where Pedestrians have the Right of Way. It takes a bit of time to realize that here in Thailand, traffic law/regulations are more "suggestions" and enforcement varies.

The older we get, the more difficult it is to recover from an accident. Getting run down by a bike is rough.

Hope he heals quickly. Don't wish this on anyone.

Try to be sober if you want to cross the roads at night , if you want to get really drunk stay at home or in your hotel room.
