Moaning about the weather in the U.K. is a national pastime due to its fickle nature, so I think we can count that as a national trait.

I think  the U.K. , England particularly, is a land of moderation in most things, so when Brits move abroad to a place of extremes in weather, food, speech etc. it's more of a shock and hence there's a bit more moaning.

Brits are also more ironic in their speech so phrases like "you'll be the death of me" or "we'll be waiting here forever" whilst meant jokingly can be misunderstood and taken literally.

Over the years I've learnt to complain sparingly in front of Thais.

By the the way, if you've been with a group of tipsy Thai women you'll know just how much they like to moan about other women.  : )

How can you tell that a planeload of Brits has just landed?

They would be complaining about how terrible Australia is

I see the usual Brit haters are out in force ... Makes me giggle. Have they an inferiority complex I wonder?
I have to admit, Brits do seem to whinge about things more than most other nationalities but there again, they understand more than others so have more to whinge about!

A guy from Tasmania once told me that New Zealanders are Australians with an education!

Yup. Known fact.

Arrogance seems also one of the cultural traits. Less of it would result in less whinging.

This thread reminded a bit of the documentary a few years ago about us Brits living in Spain.

Short clip of the attitude of many in that documentary.

I offer no more comment, everyone can judge for themself. 55555

Thais mentally disintegrate at the drop of a hat. Just tell them that you won't pay their BS prices and watch them melt like the wicked witch of the west.

He's an interesting guy though I can't work out his motivation. This particular video is ludicrous focusing as it does on Pattaya sexpats breakfast sausages. That is the joy of Dan's videos - the juxtaposition of vaguely philosophical pondering and the absurd reality of his Pattaya life. He's obviously a good man and a responsible father.I think he also has a genuine entrepreneurial instinct. What he needs to do is get away from the scummy Pattaya environment and move up a few notches. How embarrassing it must be to be flogging those horrible Pattaya condos and third rate restaurants.Maybe some elocution lessons too as that sarf London accent is going to put a lot of serious business people off though probably not in Pattaya where it is pretty much the norm.

He's trying to flog off this forum he can't be that stupid!

Yawn.

I love these threads.

We ugly 'muricans, can sit back for once, break out the popcorn and watch the Aussies and Brits duke it out! lol

But not no 1 at anything. The Stones and The Beatles were no 1 I guess. Not much for 50 years.

You're whinging about people who disagree with your original comment and who are trying to point out that you are dead wrong.
