Photo: Thai Rath THE PRIVILEGED DE FACTO PHEU THAI boss-cum-convict at large Thaksin Shinawatra is currently speculated to be returned home from Police Hospital shortly and be held in sort of a “house arrest” there. The privileged patient who has been staying for the secrecy-shrouded “illnesses” in a tight-security, private ward at Police Hospital since the last four months is now expected to enjoy even more privileges granted by a regulation recently issued by the Corrections Department for “detainment” of convicts outside of a prison which could probably refer to a hospital or living quarters somewhere, according to a political observer personally associated with partisan sources. The regulation allegedly designed for the benefit of the deposed prime minister could probably be effective after his extended stay at Police Hospital has exceeded a 120-day period next week. The “house arrest” of Thaksin could practically refer to any residential lodging of his choice, such as his Chan Song Lah residence on the Thonburi side of the capital. Only hope that the thai people do not forget about the stolen election and broken promises . And vote this corrupt clan out . In Thailand the rich can buy ' their ' justice . Just like in some ' banana republic ' . And then , they want to be taken for serious on the international political scene ... Nothing is fair or correct or according to the law here . The law is for the poor and not ' connected ' people only . Just a bad joke ... 2 5 2

There are apparently fewer anti-T forces among the Thai general population than on this forum. I reckon his years of exile might pose part of an appropriate punishment for his alleged crimes. Also don’t expect his confinement at hospital has been all donuts and dancing girls either. Was his crime worse than Nixon’s, who spent how much time in any kind of confinement? 2 1 2 1

Popular Post beautifulthailand99 Posted December 18, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 18, 2023 He killed Move Forward, he killed Pheu Thai and enabled the army and their followers to cling to power and he gets his freedom in return. Popular Post OneMoreFarang Posted December 18, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 18, 2023 Obviously, that is no surprise. What I still find amazing that Thai people again and again vote for (often the same) corrupt politicians and then they somehow expect to have an honest and competent government. That is mission impossible. Is that really so difficult to understand? 1 1 1 1
Popular Post Shwaman Posted December 18, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 18, 2023 Good for him!! Played the system perfectly! Soon he and his sister will be able to do more good things for the exploited good hard working Thai people of the north. Many people yek yek here about " rule of law ". Doesn't exist here unconditionally. But thankfully little people will finally have a champion again. Yes ! He might have gained personality in times past , but show me a leader anywhere in the world that hasn't. Mandel might be an exception but that was a anti-coloniest exception. Never considered her in Thai Long live Thaksin and Yingluck to take it too the establishment. 1 3 2
