webfact
by Nattapong Westwood Photo courtesy of Khao Sod Tan, a 21 year old victim of a brutal assault at a well-known nightclub in Chon Buri was dragged out from the bathroom and beaten, leaving him and a friend seriously injured. The incident, which happened in the early hours yesterday, was sparked by a misunderstanding that the young men were using drugs in the club’s bathroom. Tan revealed that he was in severe abdominal pain at the time of the incident due to heavy drinking. He had asked a friend to accompany him to the bathroom for assistance. However, a misunderstanding led to accusations of drug use in the club’s restroom, reported Khao Sod. Without warning, the security staff of this well-known Chon Buri nightclub stormed the bathroom, and without questioning, began to assault the two men. Tan suffered body injuries and a split under-eye, while his accompanying friend, who is now in the ICU at a local hospital, suffered a broken neck bone and brain haemorrhage. The victims underwent drug tests, which all came back negative. Despite this, the club has not taken any responsibility for the incident. Tan, who frequents the club due to its proximity to his home, revealed that the venue is often the scene of fights. by Nattapong Westwood Photo courtesy of Khao Sod Full story: The Thaiger 2023-12-26 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Shut the place down and send the guards to jail. Unprovoked violence starts from violent people, not lack of training. Of course that won't happen - a wai and some money to the victims and all is forgiven - until next time. 2

Probably, but the purely speculative, primary excuse given by the management of 'doing drugs' has been largely removed by the negative drug test at the hospital. Even if either one of the victims had used inappropriate language, even if they were 'doing drugs', is that an excuse to be almost beaten to death? 1

It's no reason to beat someone almost to death. That's why I am pretty sure there was another reason. And obviously that reason is also maybe no better excuse. bradiston
Broken neck bone and brain hemorrhage. Suggests the favourite fighting technique here amongst Thai men. Stomp on the victims head while he's lying unconscious. Makes my blood boil. 1
redwhiteandblue
Im guessing that no-one at Khao sod or Asean now proof-reads or checks anything these days. Reminds me of when I was a manager of Thai staff - the numerous mistakes drove me crazy. Edited December 26, 2023 by redwhiteandblue
aussienam
Totally unprofessional typical mismanaged rogue-type nightclub operation. Hiring of thug security staff that think they have carte blanche right to assault patrons. The extent of injuries to the hospitalized male is obviously excessive. Perhaps a strike to the back of the neck and head by a punch, elbow, knee or foot stomp. Cowardly and criminal. Security guards who think they are above the law. I've seen some absolute wa****s wearing their 'SECURITY' uniforms feeling so powerful and displaying passive aggressive mannerisms. Attack in packs to get their cheap thrills to hurt others for fun and release their aggression. Definitely this is a deadbeat club to avoid. georgegeorgia
Tan must have plenty of money to waste ,says he "frequents" the nightclub.....so they know him? Obviously not a poor Thai money to waste ,I couldn't afford it , most of us couldn't I think Tan should get a life Edited December 26, 2023 by georgegeorgia

Even if there was a fight by the patrons, security staff, if professional should be trained to defend in appropriate measures, restrain, detain and either report to police or eject them from the premises. Having cameras not working as well is a red flag for a rogue club. Any professional club will ensure they are always operating and recording by frequent maintenance and checks. Total BS 'out clause' to use the faulty camera excuse often used.

I always find farangs like you hypocrites, I posted similar in the past about farang customers being assaulted by security staff only get the replies they deserved it ,they probably caused it ,don't mess with Thais etc etc even in the case a few years ago was it Phuket where the elderly farang ladies were assaulted by nightclub security outside the club walking past bashed in the face , the replies I got were unbelievable, they deserved it apparently according to the replies I got ,they were walking too close to the door ! I think/guess in Thailand many owners and manager know that they can't expect much from the police. And they know that they will get away with a lot if they make sure to keep the police happy. So what do owners and managers do? They do whatever they want. And that's how they operate their business. TiT. Personally, I don't fear any problems like that. I don't deal with drugs, I don't take drugs, I don't play with the girlfriends of the wrong people, and I know when to shup up. It's not a good idea to mess around with the wrong people. I didn’t note much of that, but then I wasn’t working but on holiday. Of course people are used to different things in their everyday lives and might have different ways of expressing themselves. Just like everyone/everything else in nature, they want to know if you are friend or foe. Don’t expect everyone to love you. But there are always good people if you choose to look.
