Pattaya — In a concerted effort to safeguard tourists, high-visibility patrols were conducted yesterday, January 28th, by the tourist police in several key areas of Pattaya.

Led by Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong Ensan, officers on bicycles patrolled Bali Hai Pier, Pattaya Second Road, Terminal 21 Shopping Center, Pattaya Beach Road, and Walking Street.

According to Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong, the initiative aimed to deter potential criminal activity targeting tourists as part of the “Pattaya Walking Street (S.T.C.)” project. Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong stated citizens and tourists were encouraged to report any suspicious activity through the official 24/7 Line account: S.T.C. Walking Street.

The heavy set guy does not strike me as a regular cyclist.... I suspect someone said 'sit facing the other way' before the pic was taken.

After a shift in the saddle I bet his arse will be feeling it.

Sounds like if you are up in the Soi Buakhao, Soi Lengkee, Tree Town, and Soi Pothole area you will definitely be on your own.

Is heavy set a euphemism for fat?

Wearing a white T-shirt does not make you high-visibility.  A few in police uniforms during the DAY might deter the criminal element.

Pie-in-the-sky, I know, as Pattaya only has six uniforms.

At least they weren't wearing hi viz pink tops and skin tight lycra bottoms... then the thick set guy would not only stand out but likely burn an impression into your mind that you can't get rid of.

Who dreams up these ideas?  Give that man a pay rise..... Or promote him.

I am getting quite diplomatic in my old age!

They have lost the plot what exactly is their MO, no power of arrest or allowed any weapons, are they even issued radios? What are the Actual police doing?

I believe their job is to be a good witness.

Useless bunch of <deleted>

That first bicycle cop on the left makes me feel like a certain part of my nether regions might still remain in jeopardy.
