DE FACTO PHEU THAI BOSS-CUM-CONVICT Thaksin Shinawatra has already been granted parole, confirmed Justice Minister Thawee Sodsong today (Feb.13).

After spending half of his curtailed, one-year jail sentence accounting for a six-month period at Police Hospital since August, the de facto Pheu Thai boss is being released on parole among a total of 930 convicts, according to the justice minister.

Thawee said Thaksin has been granted parole due to his being over 70 years old and having “critical illnesses”, albeit shrouded in secrecy from the public.

The billionaire, politically powerful Thaksin is expected to return to his Chan Song Lah residence on the Thonburi side of the capital immediately after being released from Police Hospital where he has been staying for nearly six months now, according to Pheu Thai leader Paetongtarn Shinawatra, daughter of the de facto party boss.

Shouldn't the headline read, "Thaksin to walk free from the hospital on Sunday"?

The minister said he has already approved the list of prisoners who qualify for parole.

He has yet to be a prisoner, and if fit enough to walk is fit enough to be in jail. What a scam!

If!?? He is genuinely poorly (nobody knows but him) it's not so bad.

How many of us would like our Father, Grandad to be poorly and die in a Thai prison? (I guess not many)

And how many who were victims of this grandad as opposed to close relatives, might be less discerning!

Perhaps like those two other powerful Gentlemen, he will have to live on a military base for his own safety.....?

There are lots of politicians who match that description.

Why single out the only one who helped the poor?

What's another phrase for that green foamy substance in a pond ?

It should read he walked out of his luxury suede in the hospital laughable TIT

Another knock on the countries credibility, who needs Tuk Tuk drivers?

How can he get paroled, you need to be jailed first?

This was always going to happen. It was a quid pro quo with the spectacularly toxic and corrupt army. When his party capitulated, and allowed the army continued control, it was a done deal. Yingluck will likely return too. The greedy ones can continue feeding at the trough. It is always about money and the power for them. This useless institution is a boil on the face of the nation.

Let's see what happens with the senators. The army is likely maneuvering now to extend their terms. The moral rot continues. Any moral authority the nation once had, is gone baby gone.

Fortunately, little of this affects us directly. For now.

He didn't pull the wool over anyone's eyes. Everyone knew exactly what was going to happen and that it has surprises absolutely no-one. No-one would have expected anything different.

Great have you back Khun Thaksin. All the best for your future. Hope to meet you soon. 👍

Excellent news!  Welcome back Mr Thaksin 🙂

It would have been acceptable had the same referential treatment was given to other convicted criminals in similar

circumstances, but Oh no, he was singled out and  got the super duper extra consideration and liniancy treatment...

So many hate him, but he brought government health care to the poor, among many other things. Who could possibly blame them for loving him?
