Popular Post bob smith
Over the last few days I have been asked by a few locals what kind of visa I have, given that I can speak Thai and have been here a long time. it left me with quite a weird feeling. What business is it of theirs what visa I am on? when you see a foreigner in the UK, USA or wherever that can speak English, do you ask them what visa they have? do you even care? It seems that many Thais don’t like the fact that people can speak their language and stay here long term, their line of questioning seems to be rather investigative, trying to figure out if one is on overstay. I personally think the Chinafication of Thailand is now almost complete, there are cctv cameras on every corner and now there are members of the public doing the states work. It is becoming increasingly Orwellian out there. bob. Edited March 2 by bob smith 2 2 4
Popular Post marin
Its what you look like and who you associate with Bob. Been here 35 years and never been asked once. But for sure you and I run in completely different crowds. You have had "occasions" with these same people before. Hope you get the attention you are seeking. 3 1 1 4

Hope you get the attention you are seeking. I move in all echelons of society. Last night I was wining and dining with the rich, tonight I will be mixing it with the backpackers somewhere. Unlike you I don’t discriminate people based on their supposed wealth. I take people at face value. Most Thais I have met have been sub par to say the least. bob. 2 3 3

The most surveilled country is in fact the UK with most camera per head of population, although I read that some years ago and it might have changed. For what it is worth, there seem tome to be many fewer cameras here compared to the UK. Anyway, I quite like the cameras, I have many at my homes. 2 1

Popular Post Bday Prang
most Thais have no interest or indeed any knowledge about visas, why would they? , The visa scrutineers are normally just a handful of sanctimonious geriatrics that frequent this forum. ones visa status is between you and immigration and nobody else. My brother in law is a police officer, a chief inspector, and he has no concept whatsoever about visas or any of the hoops foreigners have to jump through to remain here 1 2 2

Gossip gets around and your the one putting it out there. 1 1
