Well if things don't change this time I expect many years of the same, eventually one side or the other will have to compromise, hopefully Palestinians have learned a lesson and Israel will have the grace to live alongside there neighbours in peace.

Don't include all Palestinians in that. While the world has been watching Gaza, Al Jazeera has been keeping us up to date with the atrocities going on in the West Bank. IMO israel is trying to provoke an uprising there- cue Gaza version 2. Probably why they need the US to send them so many bombs.

That's how these things work, you'll even find I have no need to insult other peoples intelligence along the way.

That's an ironic quote from the guy you quoted, as the head of the UN also said that October 7 did not happen in a vacuum. Indeed it did not- many many years of oppression went into the planning for that.

Seems that some are not willing to look at both sides. I look at both sides, on the one side I see an oppressor, and on the other I see the oppressed.

Perhaps Israel is now covering all its bases.......🤗

But you carry on with your news source....😉

Instead of referring to me as the "guy you quoted" you could always respond to me directly and I could explain the context myself rather than you speculating on why I said it.

That is the problem you prefer to believe AJ propaganda!

Al Jazeera has also been accused of pushing Hamas propaganda, repeatedly broadcasting statements by Hamas' military and political leaders calling for a broader uprising and aligning themselves closely with Hamas' preferred language for the conflict.[177] In addition, Israel accused several journalists of Al Jazeera of assisting or commanding Hamas units in their fight against Israel.[178][179]

Iran’s Plans for an October 7 in the West Bank

Iran has proxies in the West Bank and of course it has always sought to arm them, but this new smuggling route seems to be have worked smoothly for the past two years. In response, Israel has been conducting a crackdown across the West Bank in an attempt to shut down the smuggling. In effect, Israel is working to prevent a second October 7.

For its efforts, Israel of course has been on the receiving end of complaints that it is too heavy-handedly policing the spread of illegal arms intended to carry out what at this moment would be an apocalyptic explosion of violence and chaos that Iran seeks to unleash on the world.

Your problem is you are a one trick pony, with you it's all OK as long as Israel keeps the upper hand in any of this it's all good, giving any concessions to the Palestinians no matter what the outcome of this conflict, is no good, no matter what the Palestinians say after this is over.

You agree with TBL because he is the only poster you haven't got on 'ignore'! A very disingenuous way to conduct yourself on a forum.

The problem is I don't fall for obvious off topic baiting. So your not going to give an opinion but expect me to. Then make things up about what I think.

It's feels as if Israel don't want to stop the killing of Gazans.

You express your opinions well. But I'll try to nail you down on this one, Brain. 'First job is to get rid of Hamas'. how would you do that, any differently than Israel is doing? would you bomb 10k, 20k 30k. would it include indiscriminate killing of women, children and (lately) international aid workers? To be even more precise, let us borrow on the reality that exists - if there is a suspected Hamas fighter who looks like he is standing behind what appears to be a a hostage (doesn't matter Israeli or Palestinian) would you shoot him, through the 'hostage' because that is what you describe as 'your 'job' ?

Israel Has Created a New Standard for Urban Warfare. Why Will No One Admit It? | Opinion

Israel has not created a gold standard in civilian harm mitigation in war. That implies there is a standard in civilian casualties in war that is acceptable or not acceptable; that zero civilian deaths in war is remotely possible and should be the goal; that there is a set civilian-to-combatant ratio in war no matter the context or tactics of the enemy. But all available evidence shows that Israel has followed the laws of war, legal obligations, best practices in civilian harm mitigation and still found a way to reduce civilian casualties to historically low levels.

Those calling for Israel to find an alternative to inflicting civilian casualties to lower amounts (like zero) should be honest that this alternative would leave the Israeli hostages in captivity and allow Hamas to survive the war. The alternative to a nation's survival cannot be a path to extinction.

Israel Implemented More Measures to Prevent Civilian Casualties Than Any Other Nation in History | Opinion

The reality is that when it comes to avoiding civilian harm, there is no modern comparison to Israel's war against Hamas. Israel is not fighting a battle like Fallujah, Mosul, or Raqqa; it is fighting a war involving synchronous major urban battles. No military in modern history has faced over 30,000 urban defenders in more than seven cities using human shields and hiding in hundreds of miles of underground networks purposely built under civilian sites, while holding hundreds of hostages.

Despite the unique challenges Israel faces in its war against Hamas, it has implemented more measures to prevent civilian casualties than any other military in history.

Agreed. Did they think that if they murdered his 3 sons he'd just give up? Now he wants revenge for them. Any psychologist would have told them that, so one suspects they did it for that reason, to keep the conflict going. After all, there were suggestions that Hamas might have agreed to a hostage release in ongoing discussion, but I'd say those discussions will be as dead as the Dodo now. Job done.

Why would he want revenge he seems quite happy his terrorist sons are martyrs now. Their life starts when they die, that is the men of course, what the women get is not the same, they get to wash the dishes.🥴

The peace talks are a farce and one reason (amongst others) why Hamas are proposing such "uneven" conditions could be based on the following; killed whilst captive?.....

As part of those ceasefire talks, Hamas informed Israel on Wednesday that it could not locate 40 Israeli hostages in Gaza, who the Israelis had hoped would be released as part of a proposed first step in a deal, a senior Israeli and a senior Hamas official said.

There are about 100 living hostages remaining in Gaza, according to Israeli officials.
