This is everywhere in the world.

Alcohol has the capacity to bring up repressed anger buried deep in the subconscious.

And also remove inhibitions to act out violently.

So a dangerous drug.

Yet, it is common knowledge that Asians lack a certain gene that makes them more likely than others to have problems consuming alcohol.

So do many other people in the world, not just Asians

Seem to lacking a certain gene that makes it impossible to deal with jealousy without violence also. as is seemingly the cause of this "altercation" !

You are wrong this is widely known. Aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) is one of the two enzymes primarily involved in alcohol metabolism. Several variants exist of the gene that produces ALDH. One of these gene variants, which generates a nonfunctional enzyme, is present in Asians but not in Caucasians and African-Americans.

Is that why they get flushed when drinking copious amounts of alcohol?

Sorry, but to me a tragic incident is a child killed in a road accident. Call it what it is ,a violent murder - and before those reading the linked article say 'well he was hot over the head with a bottle first' , anybody carrying a knife is out to commit a murder - if not just stay indoors

But it still sounds like self defense, why did the staff flag him down?

Even I still have a passport of that territory, I think the Russians should not be allowed anywhere in the civilized world... Moreover, as Mr. PU calls them "new Russian elite" - the former convict murderers, rapists and criminals - new "heros" - are coming back from the front being pardoned... You just cannot see that in the news what's going on there outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg...
