Popular Post Moonlover
It's only toilet paper when it's in the bathroom. Everywhere else it's tissue paper and you will get used to it @rexpotter especially when comes nicely presented as in your photo. This is Thailand, (along with Vietnam, China, Malaysia and no doubt many other countries that I haven't got round to as yet) 2

Kinnock
The water guns make tissue in the toilets unnecessary. What surprises me now is the dinner table tissue dispenser in the toilet. 1 1

Yeah a bit like at the doctors and they want a urine sample but only give you an egg cup. Damn when your bladder is full and you piss like a horse it's useless. Overflow and wet hands...guaranteed. 3
0ffshore360
To some the format of "tissue" paper obviously evokes responses not necessarily as rational as could be. Same or similar grades of paper products are sold as serviettes ,hand towels, etc in single, multi layered stacks and rolls. I find it a mind jolt on the occasions I have seen "Recycled Toilet Tissue" before then comprehending the more realistic "green" intent of the description. Yet further contemplation of tissue paper industries I am led to wonder if the soft and silky "facial tissues" have a similar origin at some point? 1
BE88
Paper is always paper depends on what you use it for. This amuses me about Thailand

It is tissue paper made from recycled paper, used toilet paper does not get recycled.

Popular Post JackGats
Genuine table tissues cannot be imported because of the punitive custom duties. The local industry manufactures some but they're of such poor quality even toilet paper is better. Same thing with Kleenex tissues for blowing your nose. They're a luxury in Thailand. The ones produced locally are so flimsy cheap they melt in your hand. 1 2 1

Moonlover
In the toilets of Egyptian airports, once you'd done your business and washed your hands, you would then be presented with a large wad of toilet paper by the cleaner/attendant. This was supposedly for you to dry your hand on, but was actually a way of eliciting a tip out of you, despite the big sign on the wall saying 'No Tips!'. Anyone who has tried to dry their hands on toilet paper will know the result! I would hand it straight back and shake my hands dry on the way out. I've been off toilet paper in toilets ever since. Thank goodness for bum guns and bidets.
