Always the same Russians bringing in there mafia and try to take over, mind you Thai police would be in on half the goings on but they don't realize they are dealing with absolute nutters , deport the lot of them.

Thailand has a window of opportunity now, after covid, to get rid of illegal businesses run by certain foreigners with low moral standards that came in after the pandemic, before too much time has passed and their roots have gotten too deep. I'm glad to see they are beginning to act on it. Good guys in, bad guys out.

Whilst there seems to be plenty of involvement by Russian nationals in Thailand across a wide spectrum of illegal activity, and Phuket seems to be their playground of choice, the Soviet union sacked it in 1991 when this bloke was 3!

So a bit of stretch refering to him as a former Soviet Bloc criminal!

My guess is the powers that be are doing a little house cleaning before they introduce their own digital currency... I wonder how much weed one can buy with 10,000 baht of digital currency?... :coffee1:

probably about 10,000 bahts worth,

Poo-tin might soon send Spetsnaz to Phuket to take it over.

Saying Anywhere Inhabited by Our People Will Be Subject to Annexation.

As demonstrated in Crimea, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, Mykolayiv, and Zaporizhzhya Oblasts. And Georgia...

Not sure why anyone is surprised that the Russian Mafia is taking over that island.

Looks like they learned from own tactical error in Ukraine at the early stage of invasion: Tried to grab too many places at the same time.  And miserably failed everywhere.  So now focusing on One Single Spot that is Phuket.

Makes a perfect sense LOL.

"Cryptocurrency exchange". Does that mean "selling Bitcoins"? Is selling Bitcoins illegal?

It's is if you are a foreigner running a business in Thailand without permits.

"Good guys in, bad guys out" is just a propaganda slogan, not a real policy.

And somehow I can imagine why certain people in power prefer a Russian 'businessman' in Phuket, who provides monthly envelops, over Hermann living in Roi Et with his 30.000 Baht German pension. So bad guys in, good guys whatever.

Thailand has tried to clean up its act for so many years getting rid of all the fake watches, clothes gym gear etc, it's trying to get in rich people and families these people will never come here if they allow this Russian scum to stay it's time to get rid of them all, the thais hate them the expats hate them no one wants them here,, end there visas and kick them out before it's to late, build a website where people can inform the authorities of them working.

I've been here 20 years and love it but if this scum keeps coming in then maybe it's time to sell up and get out.

I had planned to stay retired in Bali, they drove me out.

Phuket will become a no go, as the Ruskies take over, the only solution is to put the elite armed forces there but the Bib wont like it, money money money.

Just go back to the 70's--80's when the Russians controlled the RTP ....all looking familiar again!

If you happen to be RUSSIAN, YES it is illegal..  kick him out.

Its all part of an agreed plan , after recent talks between Thai PM and Putin ,

Putin wants the money and his people back so he can conscript them to die in Ukraine

and the top thais  and gov will get a big payday its a win win for both

Crypto currency is digital, only find it in the crypto account, the Russians are up to everything now.

Maybe Pattaya could become a state of Russia.

Who gave Russians a 6 MONTH VISA ?! And on top of that very easy to renew.

What else did the expect the Russians to do to earn ? They knew these Russians were living here, and by all accounts now permanant immigrants. Why the hell was that allowed?

Horrific

What outrageous criminals! Exchanging bitcoins! They are a real threat to the safety of tourists!

Oh my gawd. Russians routinely use crypto to exchange money from ruble into Thai baht, because Russian debit cards are blocked everywhere in the world. So they buy crypto for rubles first, and then exchange crypto to baht.
