Two Men Found Dead in Sattahip Water Treatment Pond

Sattahip — Two men were found dead in a water treatment pond that supplies drinking water to residents in the Sattahip district on Friday afternoon, April 5th, 2024.

Police were called to the scene at 3:30 PM after a passerby reported a foul odor coming from the pond located within the Sattahip Waterworks Office. Upon their arrival, authorities found two male bodies floating in the pond.

Rescue workers, who arrived later, retrieved the bodies from the pond. The bodies were decomposed and showed no signs of foul play. The victims still could not be identified at the time of reporting, but police believed they might be local fishermen who had snuck into the area to fish in the pond.

Police suspected that one of the victims might have fallen into the pond, which has a sloped embankment and reportedly lacks any ability to easily get out. Subsequently, the other fisherman may have attempted to help his companion but accidentally fell in as well. Both men then likely drowned due to exhaustion.

Yeah, the OP does not say if measures were taken to sterilize this drinking water contaminated with rotting flesh. I would tend to believe that no action will be taken to either confirm the waters drinkability nor it safety if consumed.

Nam Sattahip, now with added protein.

So bodies are too decomposed for identification......and yet they are sure no foul play?

That's the reason I installed a 5- filter to process the water before I drink it in Thailand.
Even the water in bottles comes from such ponds.

A previous article on this story from a couple of days ago, said that they were draining the pond and 'cleaning' it up.

Possibly, that is how they managed to find the bodies.

They were already looking for them.

The comedians have lots to say like usual. But I was gonna say , anyone who can swim should be able to cling to the edge. But there's literally nothing to grab onto
