 I never put ice in my beer ..      BLASPHEMY !    and besides in already comes in it's own glass container ,,  cold and refreshing...

The smart people in Thailand usually leave the country during the Songkran madness. Anycase nothing is reliable or functions during the hysteria.

No but I once had the worst sore throat from snogging some gal from a Disco.

 

Have never heard diarrhea reported as a common problem. Most revelers probably have the sense to avoid drinking any Songkran water, though bum gun water's OK. We love our bum guns here.

 

 

Most of the water-related health problems arise from eye infections, some reportedly quite serious. Best to wear goggles if you partake.

I remember water trucks filling up at the river and delivering to Khao San. And people then aiming deliberately at eyes, ears, and mouth. Not my idea of fun.

The bigger risk is where they stick bottles in the same ice used for drinks.
