Only when members report breaches/complaints a Moderator will look at the case and make a fair decision with TT's Free Speech policy as over-riding principle. Will be interesting to see how that will affect AseanNow's current moderation approach. I call BS on that... I was banned many times by the liberal left mod squad before I left for good last year. 3 4
Popular Post cookie1974
Maybe you will be more free to express your views without fear of a ban by the tyranical moderators in the current system, after all a forum is all about free speech isnt it? 1 2
mstevens
So what's the plan? Will the server get an overhaul? It really is very slow. Will there be a rebranding? ThaiVisa was generally well-regarded while I think the rebranding to ASEANNow didn't work out so well and has been fraught with technical issues. What about moderation? Will this be a place where jokers are encouraged? Will the moderation be heavy-handed? Will it be a place for freedom of speech? Or will it just be more of the same....? Shmo
Maybe they can address the annoying pop up ads covering up the pages on mobile display. It’s so annoying that I stopped coming to the pages and only read the summary page. I’m pretty sure Cigna and all the health insurance ads are going to remain as irrelevant as they were. 1

Popular Post spermwhale
Thaiger is a bottom feeding reporting outfit that is worse than the Daily Mail in England or National Enquirer in the US. Their reporting is awful, insensitive, replete with commentary in poor taste. Asean now will become a cesspool of garbage news. 2 1 1 1

Popular Post madmitch
A few revamps I hope they implement: go back to one like button rather than the four similar ones that have now, show the identity of posters reacting to posts, less strict moderation, though of course certain issues need an amount of moderation and get a server with speeds that don't remind me of dial-up days. I also hope they continue stories from all news sources as The Thaiger don't exactly employ the greatest wordsmiths! 1 1

Popular Post spidermike007
I felt that ever since they became Asean now, the moderation was much better. I was banned many times by the liberal left mod squad before I left for good last year. Me too was banned there by the power-tripping Mods on ThaigerTalk, but mid November I was invited again to rejoin as things had changed drastically (all the Mods except the only fair decent one got the boot). And none of my posts have been deleted/altered since, so ThaigerTalk's current Free Speech policy is not 'words in the wind' (several members that wanted me banned for my posts got a friendly Free Speech remember from the Head Moderator). 5
Popular Post Red Phoenix
6 hours ago, Jingthing said: So I can go on that and trash Trump? I seriously doubt it. You don't want free speech. You want your flavor of speech protected and that's it. Related to that, I've noticed on this forum that obvious Nazis have been allowed to post extremely vile hate speech. Will the new boss follow that same policy? Yes, on ThaigerTalk you can trash Trump or Biden without any moderator interference. Free Speech also pertains to speech you don't like. And of course it results in interesting discussions as well as mud-slinging. 1 1
Popular Post thesetat
i do not predict this sale will be a good thing for Asean now or for its members.. As Asean now always took their posts from other news services, now with Thaiger as the owner I think the only news we will actually see will be the same we can see in the Thaiger online. So why have this app? The only good that came out of this sale is for the owners of Asean now. Perhaps now is a good time to start up website free from Thaigers influence. Utilizing many sources to get us our information. Who can say that Thaiger is unbiased in their approach to giving news to its followers? I can not count the number or ads i have seen in Thaiger shown as a news report when it should have been in their advertising section to promote Thailand. Tis a sad day for Asean Now. 1
