Clinton says Trump’s threats ‘should scare every American’

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently voiced deep concerns about the threats posed by former President Donald Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee for the upcoming fall election. Speaking on the podcast episode of Democracy Docket's "Defending Democracy," Clinton underscored the importance of recognizing and addressing the alarming nature of Trump's rhetoric and behavior.

Drawing a sharp contrast between Trump and President Biden, Clinton praised Biden's responsible leadership, emphasizing his commitment to civility and avoidance of vitriolic attacks. In contrast, she highlighted Trump's tendency to make menacing threats, which she argued should worry all Americans, irrespective of their political affiliations.

Describing Trump as an authoritarian figure, Clinton outlined the dangers he poses to democratic institutions. She expressed concerns about Trump's unpredictability and his disregard for the rule of law and established institutions. According to Clinton, Trump's authoritarian tendencies could lead to arbitrary decisions, favoritism, and the erosion of fundamental democratic principles.

Clinton warned that if Trump were to return to the White House, it would resemble having a dictator in power, emphasizing the need to prevent such a scenario. She cautioned against underestimating the potential consequences of allowing Trump to wield unchecked power, stressing the importance of defending democratic norms and institutions.

The Trump campaign did not provide a response to Clinton's remarks, and further comments from Clinton's office were not available at the time of reporting. With Trump and Biden emerging as the major party nominees for the 2024 presidential election, the upcoming contest is expected to be closely contested. Recent polling data suggests a tight race between the two candidates, underscoring the significance of addressing concerns about Trump's rhetoric and its implications for American democracy.

You know what should scare Americans even more hellery ? When they are overseas for example tasks with embassy security. And when that diplomatic compound was under seige and diplomats in Benghazi were in serious danger. A president and secretary of state just sat on their hands during the seige , and did not order reinforcements to rescue and counter attack. That is, assets in Italy and North Africa.

And I think that there may be enough voters in those swing states that see what's going on in NYC as a total humiliation of their preferred candidate and will cause them to be sure to vote in November.

I assume English is not your first language. Note this is not a grammer correction but word selection. In both cases above to make your point understood: "refute" should be replaced with support

Then you have missed my point.  The fact checks do refute the Clinton Body Count.

But Shakespeare comes to mind:  The lady doth protest too much, methinks

Or the redneck version:  Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Or the more contemporary:  Are you going to trust the fact checkers, or your lying eyes? (I paraphrased)

I guess so because I have no idea what you are trying to say: You post a link that supprts mysterious deaths associated with the Clintons - Then you say that those mysterious deaths have been refuted ? https://bwcentral.org/2016/05/shocking-list-of-47-mysterious-deaths-linked-to-the-clintons-part-1/

I'm saying that today's fact checkers are even less reliable than the sources they claim to be checking.  And that, when you have dozens of fact checkers all refuting a bunch of claims, the salient point is that there are so many claims out there to refute.

What? Like Clinton's "support"?

The scariest thing about this story is the picture of the old crone herself.

Loser HRC is hardly unbiased, is she?

As for saying Biden is committed to civility and avoidance of vitriolic attacks, that deserves two :cheesy::cheesy:.

Funny how I didn't find a single fact check to refute a trail of dead bodies in Trump's wake.

Dozens, maybe hundreds of so called "fact checks" refuting the >45 Clinton associates that died mysteriously.

Hillary would have been Obama's VP, but he wanted to survive his term.  And no, I don't have a link for that.  Maybe in 50 years, they'll release the documents.

Edit:  But here's a list of the deceased if you wanna go down that rabbit hole:  https://bwcentral.org/2016/05/shocking-list-of-47-mysterious-deaths-linked-to-the-clintons-part-1/

That's from 2016, so it's not up to date.

I missed that photo first time I came on here and had to go back to see it. A very, very scary thing indeed- verily the stuff of nightmares. We were sooooooo lucky that Trump was able to defeat her in 2016.

She can't even get her propaganda right. The constitution specifically prevents unchecked power with 3 branches of government.

However, like husband like wife, lying through her teeth.

Cherry picking and investigated to death! Just a lot of hot air from worthless politicians.

But. How about the current stream of cases against Dozo? Right. Deflect. Attack

I'm American and I'm not afraid. Indeed I have no fears except I fear for the nation if Genocide Joe Biden gets in. How can a man with no morals on the issue of genocide be president? It's inconceivable and scary to me.

It's 'grammar,' not 'grammer'. Learn to spell before criticising others.
