And yet still have to sign in, every time. and then go to latest news, get a year old thread, or one story then reads Comments are turned off, no other stories, then go around in circles to find 'Latest news' its worse now than it ever was and few 'Full story' links.

If you don't sign out, you shouldn't be forced to login again. Does your browser accept cookies or are you deleting cookies when you close your browser?

Cookies is a must as forum software relies on them.

if only there was an up arrow AN would be at peace and everyone would be hugging.

it's not that kind of up arrow. although i am positive many would like an up yours arrow. this one is the arrow that puts the page to the top again. so you don't have to scroll. key to enjoyment on AN... other than reading your posts.

Try the 'Home' keyboard button, works for me.

Although things have got quicker i'm still having speed problems with returning to a previous page using the return arrow in the top left of a page.

Never use back button on a forum, it's not designed for that. Use the breadcrumbs instead.

Clear your browser cache

And delete the AN cookies in your browser. That means you only have to login again once!

Cookies can sometimes be corrupted and this should solve your issue.

So now you tell me to delete them but before you say the forum relies on them. WTF ?

Delete them, and a fresh set will be stored in your browser.

These cookies aren't the same as the one's found in cookie jars, these are temperamental, stubborn little critters.

We have upgraded to a very powerful cloud server. Thanks for your kind words! ❤️

Don't be to grateful, it's a bit of a backhanded compliment.

What he's saying is that you guys made it horrendously slow before.

But I agree it's nipping along at a goodly pace now.

No, we didnt "make it" slow that was the end result from the then management penny pinching with way below capacity servers for the site.

You just got to remove those annoying ads now. 😂

They will when the forum has paid-for membership that covers their costs...it is a business, until then be grateful for your free entertainment.

No, we have to write a plugin this week for that purpose. Now its possible to use plugins again.

If you're going to bother with that (space + shift does the same), get a "Delete notifications" button also!

I'm plonked on the bar stool having a few cold beers, enjoying the scenery when not interrupted. 🍺

Don't see the point of trying to read AN on a 5.5" screen with a magnifying glass.
