Putin admits Russia has hit rock bottom

Besides the fact that he never said those words, the problem is that if Russia gets pushed far enough and feels it is going to collapse, will Putin and his supporters go the same way as they did under Mikhail Gorbachev, when they voluntarily backed away and resigned. The problem as I see it, is that when Boris Yeltsin then became President of the Russian State, things started to go downhill.  As things started to fall apart badly within 10 years, Yeltsin was forced to resign in 1999 due to internal conflicts and protests, and Putin took over (he was PM) and he turned things around economically. and was elected President several times.  So moving forward will Putin back down if Russia if it is going to collapse, or will he take down Europe with him and the country. I think it is the latter, and that NATO/USA would be wise to seek a settlement rather than trying to kill him and Russia off.  And I reckon that if Russia looks like going that way/path, then China will see that it is in their best interests to join with Russia (and some other countries too).  IMO China will see it that if/when Russia is destroyed, then they are next.

I have believed for a long time that the West should have taken out Russia/Stalin during WW2 - and Patton said so at the time and he was right.  The fact that Churchill and Roosevelt agreed with Stalin the divide up Europe once Germany was defeated, was one of the biggest atrocities of WW2. The world today would have been very different (and better IMO) that it is now, following 80 years of a 'cold war' that clearly has never really gone away.  MAD is still on the table - between them China and Russia has enough armaments to destroy most of the world - and USA and NATO has even more.  IMO Ukraine is not something the world should be going to war over - nor is Taiwan.

Is that why Russia needs soldiers from NK then........

It is the most interesting question. WHY does Russian army of 500k-1M soldiers need 3k of North Koreans? This look extremely strange. And even more strange - every second news link is about NK - western media seems to overrate the importance of these 3k, don't they? Or... there is something they are not telling you.
Let's remember last year's events in the Ukrainian war. In June 2023, my Ukrainian colleagues told me that Prigozhin would soon take Moscow, Putin would go down in history and the war would end.
The whole world watched and wondered - why 500 thousand soldiers of the Russian Defense Ministry in the rear did not prevent the march of 4 thousand soldiers of Prigozhin towards Moscow. And you thought that all the officials in Russia love Putin? Then - in 2023 - Putin's salvation came from abroad. Lukashenko saved him. Because Lukashenko's troops do not obey the Russian Defense Ministry and even a small number - 2-3 thousand soldiers of Lukashenko were enough to discourage the putschists from going to Moscow. Today, instead of 2-3 thousand soldiers of Lukashenko, Putin is helped by 3 thousand soldiers of Kim Jong-un. The difference is that Lukashenko can be intimidated. But Kim cannot be intimidated.

Russian drones hunt civilians, evidence suggests

A graphic comprising four screengrabs from drone footage, showing an attack in early October 2024. The first frame shows a distant view of two people, highlighted with a red circle, walking along a wide, curved road, surrounded by buildings and trees. A second frame shows the drone closer to the two people and almost directly overhead, while a third shows an explosion right where the two people where walking. In the final frame the two people in civilian clothes can be seen lying on the ground injured, highlighted again with red circles.

Serhiy is one of 30 civilians killed in a sudden surge in Russian drone attacks in Kherson since 1 July, the city’s military administration told the BBC. They have recorded more than 5,000 drone attacks over the same period, with more than 400 civilians injured.

But the BBC has heard eyewitness testimony and seen credible evidence that suggest Russia is using drones also against civilians in the frontline city of Kherson.

"They can see who they are killing," says Angela. "Is this how they want to fight, by just bombing people walking in the streets?"

If Russia is found to be intentionally targeting civilians, it would be a war crime.

A mercenary is any person who:

(a) is specially recruited locally or abroad in order to fight in an armed conflict;

(b) does, in fact, take a direct part in the hostilities;

(c) is motivated to take part in the hostilities essentially by the desire for private gain and, in fact, is promised, by or on behalf of a Party to the conflict, material compensation substantially in excess of that promised or paid to combatants of similar ranks and functions in the armed forces of that Party;

(d) is neither a national of a Party to the conflict nor a resident of territory controlled by a Party to the conflict;

(e) is not a member of the armed forces of a Party to the conflict; and

(f) has not been sent by a State which is not a Party to the conflict on official duty as a member of its armed forces.

It was confirmed by a poster on AN who has been fighting there that some of the foreign fighters are paid. So it seems to me that yes, there are mercenaries fighting over there.

you are missing the point of that definition.

a fighter must fulfil all of these 6 criteria to be classified as a mercenary, notably point (c) saying that mercenaries must be paid substantially more than Ukrainian soldiers.

so do you have any proof that foreigners fighting for Ukraine are paid substantially more than Ukrainian soldiers of comparable experience, rank and function ?

30.000 killed by drones from total 9.300 civilian’s deaths, right. Why use brain, just share.

By 30 September 2024, OHCHR had recorded 36,357 civilian casualties in Ukraine since February 24, 2022: 11,973 killed and 25,943 injured, but said they believe the real number is higher. This included 31,315 (9,367 killed and 21,948 injured) occurred on territory covered by the government of Ukraine and 6,601 (2,606 killed and 3,995 injured) on territory controlled by Russian armed forces or their affiliates.

hello again... hello from 3rd assault brigade 3rd foreigner storm squad...

im back on my duty with a new squad. This time im the squad leader of mix of some countries.

me Turkish.. Azerbaijani.. Colombian.. Italian.. Georgian.. British.. Ukrainian.. American

i cannot say where we are at the moment. i will try to update you guys when i can. at the moment we are busy with few things.

im not at Kursk anymore. all i can tell is.. we can see orcs like 100m away.

just want to add one thing to this mercenary thing going on.. i think we need to understand that being a volunteer is different than to be send.. for example im a volunteer.. and im here with my FREE wish but north korean soldiers are not, they are sent to russia. i think we all know and agree that there cannot be any person can do anything freely in north korea. people there cannot even walk on the street without proper permission. so how can they come to russia and fight.. this means north korea is in war with ukraine.  so.. please lets link our brains to our fingers before making any comments. there are many things i can say and prove with evidences but i wont do that. because.. well.. the thing is whatever you say or show.. a russian mentality is same.. you guys dont or cannot understand the power of brain wash.

war crimes.. humanity crimes done by russia is.. WOW and no one is talking about these.. if a person ok with this and still can post in here.. there is nothing you can discuss with this mentality. and thats the thing i meant by brain wash. these people always tries to change the topic or use words try to make you think different.. and more just lie. in my opinion its best just to ignore them. the funny thing is.. they also know they are wrong. thats why most of them are not in russia but in other countries.. its also funny that when you mention this they create other funny reasons. in psychology its called denial psychological defense mechanism. you can google it. its like.. you refuse to accept the reality. because you cannot.

anyway.. im not here to create a discussion or argument. i say again.. im happy to be with the good guys. and again i say no russian can say that.
