when i first got here in the very early 2000's, i went to a post office and an old lady rudely cut in front of me in the queue. i was really angry, but my then gf told me my pen rai... chai yen yen. -->relax take it easy.

now, if anyone does this i learned the very useful phrase--> ko tod krup, khun mai mee marayat krup...

translate: excuse me, you have bad manners

and i make sure i keep my queue

but what gets me the most is when a cashier opens because of long queues and people rush to be first rather than letting those who should go first do so. about this one... nothing you can do...

This is called "whinging" no need whatsoever to be angry. A little irritated yes, but keep it to yourself and forget all about it!

thais are masters at keeping it to themselves and this is why when they blow up it is out of proportion. i call it dealing with problems as it comes. if you disrespect others and no one ever tells you then you will assume it is ok and you will never do any introspection. everyone needs to be called out when they are disrespectful of others. your liberty stops where mine starts i was taught as a kid

I have fun at the Makro meat weighing counter. I put my food on the conveyor, (behind others if it is busy), wait and watch. Invariably Thais will arrive and put their bags on the conveyor somewhere in the middle (on top of other bags) rather than at the end,  I smile, pick up their bags and throw them to the back of the conveyor.🤣

I prefer to controlling myself when matter as these, while disrespectful, I do not consider as a "problem" I need to address or solve; there is no need for me to "call them out" and chance a confrontation, with whoever they are! I do not disrespect others so I am never a problem to them!

Some things taught to us as kids do not belong in the realms of mature adults - no need for revenge to accommodate our principles that could easily lead to something more difficult to deal with.

I am British, trying to become a more chilled-out Thai.

In my town there is a burger place in a shopping mall.

Last night, I joined what I thought was a queue to order food and waited patiently behind a gentleman for about 5 minutes, while the staff ignored me. A Thai man walked up, spoke in Thai, and was served immediately.

I kept waiting. Then a teenager came in, said something in Thai, and jumped the queue to get served. I was so Frustrated that I moved to an unoccupied counter and waited to place my order. I was ignored again.

Thai people seemed to get served without issue, and I felt discriminated against. After some time, I returned to my wife empty-handed. She tried for another 20 minutes with no luck.

My patience ran out. I marched in, bypassed the queue, and demanded my order: 2 Double Whopper Meals and 2 Fantas. I vented my frustration about the system and being ignored.

The server explained that I needed to take a ticket and give it to the attendant. Shocked, I asked how I was supposed to know. He pointed to a sign in English saying "Take ticket before ordering."

I took a ticket, was served in less than 2 minutes, apologised, and ate our food. It was a lesson for me to pay attention to signs. I hate getting old!

Is your first name Joe and last name starts with Bid?

He stood sideways so they could see. Later they went to the pawn shop opposite (he works for the tessabahn) and could see on their camera coverage.

Funny, you overusing pronouns and I think many are trying to piece together who he, she or they are.  I think  man stopped his car Infront of your wife and asked your wife and friend to get out.  They saw a gun and refused to get out and had a conversation with the man somehow while they were in the car.  Later they(the man with  the gun and his wife or your wife) that  works for the tessabhn( mafia?) looked at a video and apparently could see what on the camera coverage.  Better than a crossword puzzle...

I've had Thais jump in front of me a couple of times.  The Thai behind the counter just serves them without thinking about it.  I walk out.  No point in giving racist people your money.

I just say I'm next and push back in.

How do you know that the Thais wouldn't have jumped in front of another Thai a couple of times, and the Thai behind the counter would just serve them without thinking about it?

When in France , you don’t have to push while in a queue for the bus/ train , just stand still and you will be lifted bodily onto the transport.

Sounds like every 7-11 counter I go to, Thais ducking and weaving in front of the farang at every opportunity, must think they are driving or something

Yeah, that seems to be the default for many posters on AN - attack any comment for grammar etc. as some sort of twisted entertainment. I guess this is the legacy of social media.

I never witnessed it or heard of it happening, and it doesn't fit with how they behave.  Thais pushing in front of foreigners I have experienced, heard of happening, and it fits in with how Thais treat foreigners.

He doesn't and is just one of those that like using the racist card when it fits his weird story going on in his head.   Lots of angry posts from khun BangkokReady.
