Residents in Ban Dung, Udon Thani are at their wit's end due to nightly disturbances caused by local teenagers ringing doorbells. In response, they are offering a 5,000 baht reward for information leading to the teenagers' capture.

Weeraphon Rak Samerwong, administrator of the Ban Dung Update Facebook page, shared that numerous complaints have flooded in from residents in the municipal area of Ban Dung.

The disturbances involve three teenagers, two boys and one girl, who have been riding motorcycles around the neighborhood, incessantly ringing doorbells late at night for several consecutive nights.

This disruptive behavior has severely disrupted residents' sleep.

The incidents primarily occur near the Jindaporn Gold Shop, close to the Ban Dung Police Station. The severity of the disturbances prompted residents to pool resources for the reward, hoping to identify and apprehend the culprits quickly.

"We're unable to sleep at all. They come every night, creating the same noise and disturbance. It's unbearable," shared one affected resident.

The community's frustration has grown as the teenagers' actions escalated recently. The reward aims to encourage anyone with information to come forward swiftly, allowing residents to reclaim their peace of mind.

Local police are aware of the issue and have intensified patrols in the affected areas. However, the teenagers have evaded capture, often speeding away before police arrive. Authorities urge community cooperation, emphasizing the importance of addressing such disturbances promptly to prevent potential escalation into more serious incidents.

Plenty of time then to set up a watch at the main gate and note details  of each child and motorcycle to assist the police in their enquiries.....😋

Sorry for my stupidity, but is ringing doorbells actually illegal here that they can apprehend you for it?

Put a special chemical powder on the bell buton that leaves a big violet or blue mark when touched and thus easy to id...such powder or gel is also used when requited to trap thieves amongst work colleagues...

Double barrel loaded with rock salt may change their annoying pranks...

Now let's see if I can get the job as night watchman.

When I was in rural Louisiana, there were farmers that were fond of rock salt charges.

I bet they didn't have doorbells either.

Mostly used to protect innocent ears of corn from being maliciously torn from the the stalks they grew on.

Innocent corn on the cob is the best eating in the dark of night.

I was in Ban Dung yesterday. Very quiet it was.

Just a couple of kids having fan.

Simply disconnect the door bell. Easy peasy sorted.

I guess Thai culture prevents them from doing anything to stop it.  Better CCTV, lights, lie in wait for them, follow them when they leave, barricade the road, etc.  Lot's of things they could do if they wanted to make a little effort.  The police could also do some of these things.

We used to live in the village where Heartbeat was filmed and we were, on occasions, plagued by three 'well known' youths who lived near by.

The local bobby, no word of a lie, asked me to round up a couple of the neighbours and give the youths a good beating as he was never going to solve the problem.

Asked about today. Evidently they were only targeting Gold Shops. The one near the police station (mentioned in OP) is one of three in the Bus Station. The kids were ringing the bells and rattling the shutters.
