Yes Nihilism is an interesting one.  The fact that nothing really matters.  But this opens the way to Hedonism.  Because nothing matters do what you want and have a great life.

 

Then again we only just managed to build an airplane a hundred years ago.  So who knows what humanity's purpose is.  No doubt when we can move freely around the multiverse we will encounter things that will blow our minds and reshape our consciousness.  We will look back on Earth to see it as a fireball.  Surely then after surviving an extinction event something matters.  That is something.  That is huge.  The Earth is a fireball and humans are now spread throughout space on various planets.  Some are still in transit.  Living and dying while on a space ship and never actually seeing a planet.  We will at some point forget that we came from Earth.  Who will tell that story?  Who will believe it?  The lanky four armed cyborg came from a planet in another star system.

 

Imagine a species living so long it's planet of origin is forgotten.
