Perhaps that's why it is socialist governments want to make higher education free, and conservative elites want to dumb it down, or make it expensive..

Top 4 killers

cancer, heart disease, dementia and stroke

All predominantly diseases of old age.

Not too much of a problem in the times before vaccination, relatively few(er) made it to old age; diseases, now largely prevented by vaccination, carried them off!

On occasion people post opinions which on close inspection are very revealing about their underlying political philosophies.

Perhaps this is such a post!

Pita party won like 30% of seats. Hardly a sign that most Thais are progressive.

You completely missed the point: you said (if I may paraphrase) Election didn't mean anything.

What's more (at the risk of wandering to the margins of the topic), there were two basically populist and progressive parties standing, Move Forward and Pheu Thai, together they won 68% of the vote.

Pheu Thai is backwards.

Why are there so many farang lefties in Thailand

Why spend 8 years whingeing about Trump?

The Trump supporters can't live without their guns, that's why we don't see many here in Thailand.

The official definition of mental disorder, the DSM-5 states that "a mental disorder is a syndrome characterized by clinically significant disturbance in an individual's cognition, emotion regulation, or behavior…mental disorders are usually associated with significant distress in social, occupational, or other important activities."

Many have argued that some people have been seriously disturbed and distressed by the policies, speech, behavior, and tweets of President Trump, so much so that it has affected their cognitive, affective, and behavioral functioning. Such people may need mental health support. As such, further research is necessary to investigate the extreme reactions toward President Trump, in the same way that researchers investigate other extreme social phenomena, such as Beatlemania or the like. This will shed light on the reality of this emerging folk category that has been labelled by many as "Trump Derangement Syndrome."

Why do you think Thailand is "right-wing"?  I would say it offers a perfect liberal environment for those of us with liberal sensibilities and views.  I can't see the average Trump supporter fitting in very well here!

Why would you think politics has anything to do with being here? I am quite confused. i do not think anyone moves to another country with politics in mind.

What is in your eyes a "left wing "? Everybody who sucks out normal workers, allowed to swindle as has money, let everybody burst when out of labour for a certain period, health problems: your problem, God will take care for you. And..everbody allowed to carry firearms, when a brown coloured person is jogging bye, simple shoot the guy ?

Therefore I am so happy to live in Europe, and not the USA.

That is a false presumption. The last election indicated that the majority of voters prefer a more liberal agenda. This election was stolen by the conservatives, and the morally bankrupt elite.

Likely the same with expats. Most of us prefer a live and let live approach. And most of us don't like fascism, nor Trump.

Pheu Thai isnt liberal. They are a party supported by conservative farmers. Move Forward won less than 40% of the votes. The majority of Thais are conservative.

A lot of expats who moved a while ago have fond memories of an American left and a Democratic Party that no longer exist.  And all they watch is the MSM, which is intent on normalizing behaviors that were taboo just a few years ago.

That goes for both parties. I'd voted Dem forever, but they are now stuck to blind ideology. Boths sides are generally intolerant now. Not sure if I'll vote, but thats if...won't say.

PT did not win. They stole the election from Pita, who could be defined as liberal, and he won.

Pita didn't win more than 50%. They won like 1/3. That is a minority. Pheu Thai ended up having the PM as Move Forward couldn't negotiate a better coalition. Outside Bangkok Move Forward isn't that popular. They dominated Bangkok. Most liberals are in Bangkok. Bangkok is 1/7 of the population. The 6/7 is mostly conservative.

Total nonsense. MF was ousted due to the made up nonsense about the shares and his reform stances. Get your facts straight. The people wanted Pita. Everyone I know in Issan wanted Pita.

What is right?

What is left?

Far right?

Far left?

Liberal?

To put people into boxes is just ridiculous. All depends on the subject. In some aspects I can be on this side, in others on the opposite.

It's more about common sense than tending to political parties or views.
